XMAX V4 Pro

XMAX V4 Pro Overview

The XMAX V4 Pro is the 2026 follow-up to the V3 Pro, one of the most recommended budget portables of the last few years. It keeps the pen-shaped body, convection heating and swappable 18650 battery, then adds the things people asked for: three-position adjustable airflow, a colour OLED screen, a screw-on battery cap and a magnetic glass mouthpiece that doubles as a water pipe adapter.

Key Features & Benefits of the XMAX V4 Pro

Session mode runs on a 4 or 6 minute timer, while on-demand mode heats only while the button is held, so it suits both longer sit-down sessions and quick single draws. Heat-up is around 10 to 20 seconds and the temperature is adjustable in 1 degree steps from 100 to 220C. Most V3 Pro parts still fit, including dosing capsules, which makes it an easy upgrade for existing owners.

XMAX V4 Pro FAQs

What is different between the XMAX V4 Pro and the V3 Pro?

The V4 Pro adds a three-position airflow slider, a colour OLED screen that can be flipped for water pipe use, a screw-on battery cap in place of the magnetic door, a side-mounted USB-C port and a magnetic glass mouthpiece with a built-in 14mm/18mm water pipe adapter. Heating, oven size, temperature range and the 18650 battery are largely unchanged from the V3 Pro.

How do session and on-demand modes work on the XMAX V4 Pro?

Session mode heats to your set temperature, vibrates, then runs a 4 or 6 minute timer. On-demand mode heats only while you hold the power button, up to 30 seconds per press, and goes to standby after 30 seconds of inactivity. Press the plus and minus buttons together to switch modes, and the power button plus the plus button to change the session length.

How does the adjustable airflow work?

A slider on the body opens or closes the air intake across three positions. Closed gives a tighter draw and denser vapor, open gives a freer pull that suits water pipes and longer inhales. Even fully open it is a little more restricted than the V3 Pro, so long slow draws still work best.

Can I use the XMAX V4 Pro with a water pipe?

Yes. The glass mouthpiece is the adapter: it fits 14mm and 18mm female joints, so nothing extra is needed. Flip the screen with the power button plus the minus button so it reads correctly upside down. Our water pipe guide covers setup and technique.

What battery does the XMAX V4 Pro use and how long does it last?

It takes a standard flat-top 18650 and ships with a 3.7V 2550mAh cell under the screw-on base. Expect around 6 to 8 sessions per charge in normal use, with XMAX quoting up to 12 at 220C. Charge over USB-C at 5V/1A for roughly 3 hours, and do not use chargers above 5V/2A. Spare cells and an external charger keep it running indefinitely.

Does the XMAX V4 Pro work with concentrates?

It is a dry herb device first. XMAX mentions a wax cup on its support page, but most kits do not include one, so treat concentrates as an optional extra. If you want to try it, use a wax cup or a concentrate pad inside the dosing capsule with a very small amount and never put oils or liquids straight into the oven.

Do XMAX V3 Pro accessories fit the V4 Pro?

Most do. Dosing capsules, screens and glass stems made for the V3 Pro fit the V4 Pro oven. The battery door does not carry over, because the V4 Pro uses a threaded cap instead of a magnetic one. V3 Nano parts are not compatible.

What does the XMAX V4 Pro warranty cover?

TopGreen provides a 12 month limited warranty on the device body from the date of purchase with proof of purchase. As with the V3 Pro, glass, the battery cell, screens and other detachable parts are treated as consumables. Buy from an authorised retailer, as counterfeit units have been reported.

XMAX V4 Pro Cleaning & Maintenance

The V4 Pro is a convection device, so airflow matters more than anything else. Residue on the screens, the glass mouthpiece and around the airflow slider will tighten the draw and dull the flavour long before the oven itself looks dirty. Little and often is the approach that works.

Quick Cleaning (After Each Session)

  1. Let the device cool: Give the oven and glass a minute before handling them.
  2. Empty and brush the oven: Tap out the spent herb and sweep the stainless steel oven with the included brush.
  3. Clear the top screen: Brush the mesh screen at the top of the oven so air can pull through freely. A tight draw usually means this screen is clogged.

Deeper Cleaning (Every Few Sessions)

  1. Pull the glass mouthpiece off: It is held on magnetically. Separate the glass tip, silicone sleeve, cap, filter and screen.
  2. Soak the glass and steel parts: Put the glass tip, screens and metal filter in isopropyl alcohol for 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse with warm water and let them dry completely.
  3. Wash the silicone and plastic parts separately: Use warm water and mild dish soap, not alcohol, on the silicone sleeve and plastic cap.
  4. Swab the oven: Dip a cotton swab in isopropyl alcohol and wipe the oven walls with the device held upside down so nothing drips into the heater. Check the airflow slider area and brush out any build-up.
  5. Reassemble and burn off: Refit the mouthpiece, run one empty session at 220C, then let it cool before loading.

Care Tips for Better Results

  • A medium grind and a loose pack keep air moving through the oven. See our grind guide.
  • Dosing capsules keep the oven almost spotless between deep cleans.
  • Swap in a fresh screen rather than fighting a badly clogged one. Four come in the box.
  • The glass mouthpiece is the fragile part. Store it separately or in a case when travelling.
  • For general technique, read our guide on how to clean a dry herb vaporizer.

Learn More About XMAX V4 Pro

The V4 Pro is aimed at the same buyer as the V3 Pro: someone who wants real convection flavour, a replaceable battery and fast heat-up without spending premium money. The glass mouthpiece and isolated airpath give it a cleaner taste than most pens at this price, and because that mouthpiece is also a 14mm/18mm adapter, it is one of the cheapest ways into water pipe vaping. The small oven and 1 degree temperature steps make it a sensible pick for microdosing, and on-demand mode means you are not committed to a full session every time.

There are trade-offs. Convection pens need slow, deliberate draws, so read our guide on how to inhale from a dry herb vaporizer before judging it. Vapor gets warm at the top of the range, so pair it with water or stay under 200C if that bothers you. If you are new to vaporizers, our beginner's guide, temperature guide and convection vs conduction explainer cover the basics.
