Ruby Twist Pro

Residue collects in three places on the Ruby Twist Pro: the ruby bed inside the housing, the CNC screens above and below it, and the glass bowl. Crossing includes a wooden handle brush and a stirring tool for exactly this. Keep the screens clear and the draw stays open, because a clogged screen is the usual reason a twist-style injector starts to feel restrictive.

Quick Cleaning (After Each Session)

1. Park the housing on the stand: Set the injector back on the coil heat stand and let it cool before handling anything.
2. Empty the bowl warm: Tip the spent flower out of the Micro Matrix bowl while it is still warm so it releases cleanly.
3. Brush the bowl: A pass with the included brush clears the bowl and its screen before the next load.
4. Clear the housing screen: Brush the underside of the injector so ground flower does not bake onto the screen.

Deeper Cleaning (Every Few Sessions)

1. Let it cool completely, then open the housing: Remove the retaining screen and tip the ruby balls into a dish. Note whether you are running the twist widget so you refill to the same level.
2. Soak the rubies in isopropyl alcohol: Around 30 minutes in 90% or stronger alcohol, then a hot water rinse. Ruby is chemically resistant, so this will not harm it.
3. Soak the screens, o-rings and glass: The CNC screens, mesh baskets and the Micro Matrix bowl all take the same soak, followed by a rinse.
4. Clean the twist widget separately: If you run the spinner, brush it and soak it too, since the vanes catch resin.
5. Dry everything and reassemble: Refill the housing once every part is dry, fit the screens, and run the PID at temperature with nothing loaded so any residual alcohol clears.

Care Tips for Better Results

• Do not tamp the bowl for standard use. Crossing is explicit about loading a medium grind loosely, and our grind guide covers the detail.
• Replace the Viton o-rings when they harden. Spares are in the box and a tired o-ring causes a loose joint.
• Inspect the ruby balls each time you soak them and swap out any that are cracked or discoloured.
• Keep the PID away from water and humidity, and always cool the housing on the stand rather than a work surface.

The Ruby Twist Pro exists to get people into ball vaporizers without the usual outlay. Everything except the glass is in the box, and the two configurations cover different tastes: the twist widget keeps material tumbling so you can run a bowl without stirring, while pulling the widget and topping up to 255 rubies gives you more thermal mass and a more conventional injector feel.
