Which 18650 battery should I use in the XMAX Starry V3?
XMAX asks for its own cell or an authentic brand rather than a clone, and never more than 5V and 1A when charging. The manual warns a cell drained below 2 percent may never take a charge again. XVape's replacement fits the Starry 4 too.
How long is a session, and can I change it?
XMAX calls it the safety power duration and offers 5 or 10 minutes. Hold power and plus together for two seconds to swap. It buzzes once at temperature and again when the screen shuts off, and remembers your last temperature.
Why does the Starry V3 go as low as 212F?
The 212F to 464F range is wider than the useful band at both ends. In our review the lowest settings were redundant, too cool to release much, while the top turns harsh and edges towards combustion.
How much should I pack into the chamber?
Material has to sit against the ceramic walls to heat, so our review found a medium grind and a full but uncompressed load works best. Small amounts underperform, and XMAX warns against overloading.
Can I use the XMAX Starry V3 with a water pipe?
Not as supplied. XVape sells a water pipe adaptor mouthpiece that magnets on in place of the stock one, with a sleeved tip for grip on glass. It suits the V3 only, and our review found it mainly takes the edge off higher temperatures.
How is the Starry V3 different from the Starry 4?
The XMAX Starry 4 adds adjustable airflow, USB-C charging, a flip battery cap, a rotating display and four, six or ten minute sessions. Both keep the magnetic ceramic mouthpiece, removable 18650 and pass through charging.
What does the XMAX Starry V3 warranty cover?
One year from purchase with a receipt, or one year from manufacture without. Normal wear, cosmetic damage and gradual battery capacity loss are excluded. TopGreen support handles claims by email, asking for the bill of sale, authenticity code, photos and serial numbers.

XMAX Starry V3 Cleaning & Maintenance
Conduction packs the Starry 3.0's ceramic chamber wall to wall, so resin bakes onto the oven sides rather than just the screen, and the short path up into the magnetic zirconia mouthpiece traps the rest. In our review the chamber was the easy part and the mouthpiece was the fiddly one, which matches how it comes apart: the oven is one open cavity, the mouthpiece is a small stack of screens and gaskets.
-
Let it cool completely: XMAX asks for the device off and at least 30 minutes since the last session before cleaning, and warns against touching the heating element while it is still hot.
-
Clear the oven: Lift the magnetic mouthpiece away, tip out spent material, and lift the metal chamber screen off the oven floor with the tweezers or screen tool from the included cleaning set.
-
Strip the mouthpiece: Pull the gasket and ceramic screen from the underside, then pop the inner screen out with a paperclip. Older lids use a black ceramic screen, newer ones a metal screen with two screens in the mouthpiece instead of one. Sliding the metal plate toward the centre releases the stem, and the small gasket riding on it is easy to lose.
-
Soak only the metal and ceramic: The zirconia tip, screens and stem can sit in 91 percent or stronger isopropyl for an hour, then get rinsed in hot water and dried fully. Gaskets, the o-ring and the silicone cap go in warm soapy water instead. Spare screens, o-rings and caps ship in the box, so swap rather than fight a clogged screen.
-
Swab the chamber: Hold the Starry upside down and work a damp, not dripping, cotton swab in circles around the ceramic walls and floor. The manual is blunt about the body: never immerse or wash it with water or isopropyl, and never pour liquid or oil into the chamber.
-
Reassemble and burn off: Once everything is dry, rebuild the mouthpiece and run one empty cycle at the 464°F top setting to clear any alcohol left behind.
-
Mind the battery: Wipe the 18650 contacts dry, use a reputable cell rather than a clone, and avoid storing the Starry flat, since XMAX warns a cell that drains below two percent may never take a charge again.
Emptying the oven straight after a session and wiping the mouthpiece screen keeps full teardowns to roughly once a fortnight.
