Puffco Peak Pro

Puffco Peak Pro Overview
The Peak Pro is the top of Puffco's range and the rig the rest of the concentrate market gets measured against. Since August 2024 every kit ships with the 3DXL chamber and the matching XL Joystick Cap, so the deeper bowl is no longer a paid upgrade. Heating elements sit in the chamber walls with nothing in the floor, which means concentrate climbs the hot sides during a draw and settles onto a cool base between pulls instead of sitting on a hotplate.
Key Features & Benefits of the Puffco Peak Pro
What separates it from the New Peak is control. Bluetooth pairing with the Puffco Connect app gives single degree temperature setting from 232 to 316°C, session lengths up to two minutes, up to 25 saved heat profiles, live chamber temperature, a dab counter and firmware updates. The rig still runs fully without a phone, since saved profiles live on the device and the four presets, Boost and Stealth mode all work from the single button. It also charges on any Qi pad as well as USB-C, and the Glass 2.0 top uses five laser cut perc slots feeding internal vortex grooves.
What Comes with the Puffco Peak Pro?

- Peak Pro Glass 2.0
- 3DXL Chamber
- XL Joystick Cap

If the app and the larger bowl are not worth the difference, the New Peak runs the same style of ceramic chamber for roughly half the money. For a rival with a quartz lined atomizer and its own app, see the Focus V Carta Sport.

What is the 3DXL chamber and how does it differ from the 3D?
The 3DXL bowl is 23mm deep against the standard 3D chamber's 15mm, which Puffco puts at 78% more capacity and around twice the vapor. The extra depth goes downward rather than outward, so bigger loads stay clear of the air path. Both chambers heat only through the walls, never the floor.
Do I need the Puffco Connect app to use it?
No. All four presets, Boost, Intensity and Stealth mode run from the single button, and custom profiles are saved to the rig itself. The app adds single degree temperatures, session lengths up to two minutes, Vapor Control levels, a dab counter, LED customisation and firmware updates. One firmware update is required before a new 3DXL chamber will heat.
What is XL Vapor Mode?
Vapor Control in the app sets vapor output to Standard, High or Max. Fitting a 3DXL chamber unlocks a fourth XL level that is only available with that chamber. It is the highest output the rig can produce and it drains the battery faster than the lower settings.
How long does the Peak Pro last on a charge?
Puffco quotes about 40 heat cycles, with higher temperatures and two minute sessions bringing that down. A full charge over USB-C takes roughly two hours, and any Qi pad works as well. The kit includes a cable but no wall plug, so supply your own 5V 2A adapter.
Does the Peak Pro work with a normal glass rig?
Yes, through the Peak Pro Link, a separate accessory that carries the chamber and electronics onto a standard dab rig joint so you can drop the torch. The Glass 2.0 top on the rig itself is also interchangeable with every Peak and Peak Pro glass piece, including third party art tops.
Do New Peak chambers fit the Peak Pro?
No. The New Peak uses its own smaller chamber with different threading. The Peak Pro takes the 3D or 3DXL chamber, and only the 3DXL unlocks XL Vapor Mode. Glass is the exception, since the joint has been shared across every Peak generation for years.
Why is my Peak Pro flashing red and white?
That is a chamber connection error rather than a failure. Soak the chamber in 90% or stronger isopropyl for 20 minutes, never water, clean the gold pins in the base with a dampened swab, let everything air dry, then tighten the chamber a quarter turn. Our error codes guide covers similar patterns on other devices.
What does the Peak Pro warranty cover?
Two years on the electronic base, one year on the battery and six months on the 3DXL chamber, against defects in materials and workmanship. Glass, cosmetic damage and normal wear are excluded, opening the base voids it, and Puffco does not honour claims on units bought from unauthorised marketplace sellers.

Puffco Peak Pro Cleaning & Maintenance
Puffco's own advice for the Peak Pro is short: swab the warm chamber after every session and give the rig a proper clean roughly every 100 dabs, which the Connect app reminds you about. Three parts collect residue. Oil bakes onto the ceramic 3DXL bowl, reclaim films the gold contact pins where the chamber meets the base, and vapor condenses inside the Glass 2.0 top. Dirty pins are the usual cause of the red and white flashing that owners mistake for a dead chamber.
Quick Cleaning (After Each Session)
- Swab the chamber warm: Lift the XL Joystick Cap and wipe the bowl in gentle circles with a cotton swab. Warm residue lifts straight off, cooled residue does not. Keep the pressure light so the heating walls are not damaged.
- Wipe the cap: Oil collects on the underside and the stem of the joystick, so give it the same swab.
- Empty the glass: Pour the water out after every session and never store the rig with the top full.
Deeper Cleaning (Every Few Sessions)
- Cool down and disassemble: Power off, pull the glass gently off the base, then unscrew the 3DXL chamber from the base by hand.
- Soak the glass: 20 minutes in 90% or stronger isopropyl, then rinse thoroughly with water until no alcohol taste remains. Air dry completely before refitting, and keep water out of the lower section.
- Soak the chamber, never rinse it: The same 20 minute isopropyl soak, then stand it to air dry fully. Water damages the ceramic and the electrical contacts, so it never goes near the tap.
- Clean the connection points: Run an isopropyl dampened swab over the gold pins in the base and through the air path between the chamber and the glass. Never rinse or submerge the base.
- Reassemble dry and check: Thread the chamber back in snugly, align the glass inlet hole with the chamber and press it home. If it still flashes red and white, tighten a quarter turn and clean the pins again.
Care Tips for Better Results
- Load in the centre of the chamber floor rather than against the walls. A warm chamber loads far more cleanly than a cold one.
- Fill the glass only to just above the perc slots. Overfilling pushes water into the lower section and the base.
- Use 90% or stronger isopropyl. Weaker bottles carry water content that Puffco warns against near the device.
- The app's cleaning reminder and dab counter are the easiest way to keep to a schedule if you dab daily.
- The chamber is a consumable, so keep a spare rather than fighting one that no longer tastes right. General technique is in our cleaning guide.
Learn More About Puffco Peak Pro
The Peak Pro is aimed at daily concentrate users who want repeatable results without a torch, and at anyone who takes large dabs. The 3DXL bowl is 23mm deep against 15mm on the standard chamber, so loads in the 0.3g to 0.5g range sit below the air path instead of pooling near it, which means less splashback and less waste. Real-time temperature control keeps the chamber at the number you set for the whole cycle, which is the practical reason flavour holds up better than on voltage based rigs. If you are choosing between this and a portable, our desktop vs portable vaporizers guide is a useful starting point, and the premium vaporizers list covers the same tier in dry herb.
The costs are money, size and consumables. At $450 it is roughly double the New Peak, the base alone weighs 376 grams and the assembled rig stands about 240mm tall, so it lives on a table. The ceramic chamber is a wear part with a six month warranty, and a firmware update through the Connect app is required before a new 3DXL chamber will heat at all. It handles concentrates only, never flower, which our guide on concentrates in a dry herb vaporizer explains, and Bluetooth needs re-pairing more often than it should. Keeping it clean is the main upkeep, covered in our cleaning guide.
