The Ghost 2 is a rebuild of the wax pen Dr. Dabber launched with back in 2013, and it has very little in common with it. The shape is a flat pocket unit rather than a pen, the top hinges open on a magnet to reveal the ceramic eChamber, and the heat comes from the chamber walls rather than a coil in the floor. Dr. Dabber calls that radial sidewall heating, and the point of it is to warm a small load evenly instead of scorching whatever touches the bottom.It borrows the Dynamic Heating Modes from the Switch 2, so Ascent, Descent and Steady are all available from the single button without needing an app. Five presets cover 420F to 540F, heat up is 5 to 10 seconds, and at 89mm tall it is genuinely pocketable, which puts it among the more discreet ways to dab away from home.

What is different between the Ghost 2 and the original Ghost?
Almost everything. The 2013 Ghost was a coil based wax pen with a screw on atomizer. The Ghost 2 is a flat pocket unit with a hinged magnetic lid, a ceramic eChamber heated from its side walls, five temperature presets, three dynamic heating modes, haptic feedback and USB-C charging.
How do the temperature settings and modes work?
One click shows the current setting, a second click within three seconds changes it. The five presets run purple 420F, blue 450F, cyan 480F, yellow 510F and white 540F. Three clicks cycle Descent, Steady and Ascent, shown by the LED moving down, pulsing or moving up.
How long is a heating cycle?
Two clicks start a 30 second cycle once the set temperature is reached. Double clicking during the cycle adds 15 seconds, for 45 seconds total, and that extension can only be used once. One click cancels a cycle at any point.
How long does the Ghost 2 eChamber last?
Dr. Dabber says three to twelve months depending on use and cleaning. Replace it when the dish is cracked, the taste stays burnt after a proper clean, or cloud production drops. It is excluded from the warranty, and the unit must be recalibrated to a new one before the first use.
How do I recalibrate the Ghost 2?
Leave the unit off and unplugged for 15 minutes so the body and eChamber sit at the same temperature. Then, with the unit off, click the button four times and hold on the fourth until the lights blink. Three green blinks means success, three red means try again.
How long does a charge last?
About 20 heating cycles, with a full charge taking roughly an hour over USB-C. Passthrough charging works, so you can keep using it while plugged in. Four clicks with the unit on shows battery level as green above 70 percent, yellow between 30 and 70, and red below 30.
What do the blinking fault colours mean?
Three red blinks means the device is too hot to heat. Three yellow blinks means the eChamber is missing, loose or has failed. Three pink blinks points at a PCB, short circuit or charging fault. Our error code guide covers the same patterns across other brands.
What does the Ghost 2 warranty cover?
One year on the battery, charger and electrical components. The eChamber is treated as a disposable part and is not covered, and neither are the mouthpiece assembly or the glass mouthpiece sold separately.

Dr. Dabber Ghost 2 Cleaning & Maintenance
Two parts on the Ghost 2 need attention. Oil sits in the ceramic eChamber, and condensate collects further up in the glazed ceramic airflow regulator that sits inside the mouthpiece assembly. Dr. Dabber allows isopropyl on both, but the eChamber must never be soaked and the painted shell must never see alcohol at all.
Quick Cleaning (After Each Session)
- Warm the chamber first: Run a 3 to 5 second heat before swabbing. Warm residue lifts, cold residue smears.
- Dry swab the dish: Use a dry cotton swab to soak up what is left, working the bottom and the side walls without pressing hard.
- Follow with isopropyl: A swab dipped in isopropyl clears stubborn marks, then dry heat the chamber for another 3 to 5 seconds to drive off any alcohol left behind.
Deeper Cleaning (Every Few Sessions)
- Strip the top: Pull the mouthpiece and silicone top off the unit, then remove the airflow regulator from inside the assembly.
- Soak the mouthpiece parts: Drop the mouthpiece, silicone top and airflow regulator into isopropyl, fully submerged, for no more than 20 minutes. Longer than that damages the finish on those parts.
- Clean the connection points: Swab the electrode contacts on both the eChamber and the body with isopropyl. A dirty connection is the usual cause of three yellow blinks, not a dead chamber.
- Wipe the shell with water only: A paper towel dipped in warm water is all Dr. Dabber allows on the outside. Isopropyl fades the finish.
- Air dry for 20 minutes or more: Reassemble the airflow regulator, silicone top and mouthpiece only once everything is fully dry, then refit to the unit.
Care Tips for Better Results
- Never soak the eChamber in isopropyl or anything else, and never dry burn it with nothing inside. There should always be a small amount of oil in the dish when it heats.
- Keep loads to about half a pea. Overloading restricts airflow and produces less vapour, not more.
- A slight buzzing or ticking noise while heating or charging is normal.
- Chambers season with use and start producing more from less, so do not judge a fresh one on the first few sessions.
- Replace the eChamber when the dish is cracked, leaking or tastes burnt after a full clean, then recalibrate the unit to it before the next session.
