Can you use dry herb in the Linx Apollo?

No. Linx builds the Apollo for concentrates only, and the warranty excludes damage or residue caused by materials the device was not designed for. There is no flower chamber or insert available.

How much concentrate should you load into the Apollo?

Linx recommends about a grain of rice per use, placed in the center of the quartz chamber with the included tool. More than that drains the battery and leaves the atomizer slower to heat and cool. Load gently, since quartz is fragile.

What is the difference between the Apollo's portable and desktop modes?

Portable mode runs the glass bubbler on the base, with airflow set by covering the silicone regulator underneath with a finger. Desktop mode swaps in the carb cap and plugs the base into your own glass, fitting 14mm or 18mm downstems in male or female.

Why does water leak from the bottom of the Apollo bubbler?

Draw from the top of the bubbler mouthpiece before attaching it to the base. That forms the seal which keeps water from escaping the bottom joint. Keep the fill level below the percolator.

How do the Apollo's heat settings and Heat Boost work?

Three quick clicks cycle through low, medium, medium high and high, shown as blue, green, yellow and red. Holding the button triggers Heat Boost instead, which Linx rates at 600F and which is handy for clearing leftovers. A heat cycle lasts 30 seconds before the device returns to standby.

Is the Apollo atomizer covered by the warranty?

No. The one year limited warranty covers internal electronics, while Linx treats atomizers, glass and accessories as consumables with no coverage. Replacement quartz atomizers, bubblers and carb caps are sold separately, and units bought from marketplace sellers get no warranty service.

Linx Apollo Cleaning & Maintenance

The Apollo is a concentrates only rig, so its mess is reclaim rather than plant matter, and it collects in three specific spots: the quartz bowl, the two airholes in the top of the base underneath the atomizer, and whichever glass you are running, the bubbler in portable mode or the carb cap and your rig in desktop mode. Linx asks for a clean atomizer after your final use of a session, before that reclaim sets hard.

  1. Burn off, then let it cool: Linx's own method is to run the Apollo on the red high setting, or hold the button for Heat Boost, to burn reclaim out of the quartz. Power the device down with five clicks afterwards and wait until it is properly cold. The manual is blunt that the atomizer area stays hot during use and during cleaning.

  2. Take the atomizer off by its metal base: The atomizer is a quartz bowl seated in a metal base. Grip the metal, never the quartz. Twisting or forcing the bowl can wreck both the bowl and the atomizer.

  3. Swab the quartz gently: Dampen a cotton swab with isopropyl and work it around the inside of the chamber in a circular motion, then swab the outside. No pressure. The coil is inlaid rather than exposed, so there is nothing to snag, but force can permanently damage the atomizer.

  4. Clear the base and airholes: Pull the silicone airflow regulator and sleeve off the bottom of the base. Swab the top and bottom faces of the base, then brush out the two airholes. When draws feel clogged, Linx suggests wetting the included brush with isopropyl and rotating it in and out of the air paths until they run clear.

  5. Glass in alcohol, silicone in soapy water: Desktop glass can sit in isopropyl to dissolve reclaim. For the bubbler, swish isopropyl mixed with salt for about five minutes. Remove the silicone carb cap ring from the glass first, because Linx warns alcohol chemically breaks silicone down. Silicone parts get hot soapy water only. Rinse everything under running water and dry it fully before reassembly.

Never submerge the base itself, which houses a sealed 2600mAh battery. Charge over micro USB for two to three hours, do not vape while it is plugged in, and do not leave it charging overnight. Three white flashes mean a shorted atomizer that needs replacing, five mean it is not screwed down tightly enough, which is easy to miss after a clean.
