It swaps the pure conduction of the PAX Plus for a hybrid heater that PAX says produces around 50 percent more vapor than its earlier models, and it finally moves the whole range to USB-C. The body is still a plain aluminium slab with one button and a set of LED petals, so it stays one of the easier portables to use in public.

Can the PAX FOUR be used with a water pipe?

PAX FOUR Cleaning & Maintenance
The FOUR was designed to be simpler to clean than earlier PAX models, with no small removable parts inside the oven. Residue still builds on the oven screen and in the vapor path, which tightens the draw and dulls flavour, so PAX suggests cleaning every three to five sessions. Always let it cool for 10 minutes before you handle any of it.
Quick Cleaning (After Each Session)
- Let the device cool for 10 minutes: The oven and lid get hot enough to burn, so do not rush this step.
- Remove the oven lid: Lift one of the side tabs to pop the lid off.
- Brush out the oven: Use the wire brush or the multi-tool to clear spent material from the chamber.

- Take off the mouthpiece and oven lid: Both lift away by hand, and the multi-tool helps prise the flat mouthpiece up at its edge.
- Clear the vapor path: Dip the wire brush in isopropyl alcohol and push it through the vapor path from the top, then work it back and forth to shift build-up.
- Pop out the oven screen: Press the round end of the multi-tool against the screen to eject it.
- Wipe the oven and lid: Use an alcohol-tipped swab on the oven walls and on the oven lid.
- Soak the oven screen: Leave it in isopropyl alcohol for 15 minutes, then rinse and dry it fully before it goes back in.
- Dry everything and reassemble: Let all parts dry completely so no alcohol reaches the heater.
