Puffco Proxy

Puffco Proxy Overview
The Proxy is the odd one out in Puffco's range. Instead of a fixed rig, everything lives in a self contained base holding the ceramic 3D Chamber, the battery and the electronics, and that base lifts out and drops into whatever glass you fancy. The stock Proxy Pipe gives it the shape of a Sherlock pipe, but the same core sits in a bubbler, a long dry stem or a rig adapter, and every Proxy base fits every Proxy glass piece regardless of generation.
Key Features & Benefits of the Puffco Proxy
The current version, on sale since September 2025, adds Bluetooth. Pairing with the Puffco Connect app sets the temperature, session length and vapor level for each of the four presets, customises the LED bar and installs firmware updates, and those settings save to the device so the phone is a setup tool rather than a daily requirement. The 3D Chamber is slightly deeper than the original, which cuts down the splashback that used to get into the air path, and the air path inside the base is now metal instead of silicone, so it tastes cleaner and wipes out more easily.
What Comes with the Puffco Proxy?

If you want a smaller pocket option instead, look at the Pivot, or step up to the Peak Pro for a full table rig.

What changed on the 2025 Proxy?
Bluetooth arrived, so the Connect app now sets temperature, session length, vapor level and LED behaviour and pushes firmware updates. The 3D Chamber is about a millimetre deeper to cut splashback, the base air path is metal rather than silicone, battery life is up, and the stock glass pipe stands upright so the mouthpiece stays off the table.
Is there a Proxy Pro?
No. Puffco says the Proxy has pro technology as standard, unlike the Peak and Peak Pro, which are two tiers of one design. The Proxy still goes without the 3DXL chamber and wireless charging that the Peak Pro carries.
Are Proxy glass pieces cross compatible?
Yes. Every Proxy base fits every Proxy glass piece, including pieces bought for the original 2022 version, plus third party bubblers and rig adapters. Chambers are the exception: they are generation specific, so a chamber for the old Proxy will not fit the current base and the reverse is also true.
What is the Proxy Wizard, the Bub and the Core?
The Wizard is a dry pipe with a long spiral stem that cools vapor and keeps the base away from your face. The Bub is a compact water piece for smoother draws. The Core is a glass free aluminium cup with a silicone mouthpiece and ceramic terp pearls, and it only fits the Bluetooth version of the base.
How many dabs does a charge give?
Puffco quotes around 15, depending on the preset and how often you Boost. A full charge over USB-C takes about two hours, and the Proxy runs while plugged in as long as it holds some charge. Triple click the button to see the remaining level.
Can the Proxy vaporize dry herb?
Not with the standard chamber. Puffco sells a separate Proxy Flower Bowl accessory for flower, which swaps the concentrate chamber for a bowl. Our guide on concentrates in a dry herb vaporizer explains why the two jobs usually need different hardware.
How do I make the light bar less obvious?
Four clicks on the base dims the LED bar, and four more return it to full brightness. The Connect app goes further with brightness, patterns and a mode that turns the bar off entirely, which is the option to use if you want the Proxy to draw no attention.
What does the Proxy warranty cover?
Puffco covers the Proxy base for two years and the 3D Chamber for six months, against defects in materials and workmanship. Glass is not covered, nor is normal wear or accident damage, and claims need proof of purchase from an authorised retailer.

Puffco Proxy Cleaning & Maintenance
Because the Proxy has no water in the path, almost everything that goes wrong with it comes down to residue in three places: the ceramic 3D Chamber, the gold contact points where the chamber meets the base, and the glass pipe. Puffco's rule of thumb is a full clean each time the battery runs flat, and the Connect app sends a reminder after around 100 sessions.
Quick Cleaning (After Each Session)
- Wipe the chamber warm: Flip the Joystick Cap open and swab the bowl in gentle circles while it is still warm, not hot. Residue lifts easily at that point and hardens once it cools.
- Do the cap as well: The underside of the joystick picks up oil every session and a swab clears it in seconds.
- Stand it upright: Keeping the Proxy vertical while it is warm stops anything running down toward the base.
Deeper Cleaning (Every Few Sessions)
- Cool down first: Never disassemble or clean the base, chamber or glass while hot.
- Soak the chamber: Unscrew it from the base and give it 20 to 30 minutes in 90% or stronger isopropyl. Take the silicone jacket off first by easing it back over the housing rib. Air dry fully before it goes back on.
- Soak the glass and the cap: The glass pipe goes into isopropyl, then gets rinsed with water until no alcohol smell remains and air dried completely. The joystick cap can soak alongside it. Silicone swells in alcohol and shrinks back, which is normal.
- Swab the base, never soak it: Clean the gold contact points and the air path with an isopropyl dampened swab. Keep the USB-C port dry and free of alcohol, water and dust.
- Refit carefully: Align the three prongs on the chamber with the base and press without forcing. Seat the base fully inside the glass so it seals, with the Puffco name facing you.
Care Tips for Better Results
- Load about a grain of rice on the bottom surface of the chamber and cold load it, before any heat is applied.
- Draw slowly. Hard pulls push concentrate into the air path through the slits at the top of the chamber, which is the main source of extra cleaning.
- Use 90% or stronger isopropyl and nothing else. Abrasives and other solvents are not needed even on stained glass.
- The chamber is a wear part. When a clean, correctly seated one stops tasting right, replace it rather than scrubbing harder.
- Glass pieces scratch if slid across a surface, so use a case or the packaging when travelling. Our cleaning guide covers general technique.
Learn More About Puffco Proxy
The Proxy makes most sense for someone who wants rig style vapor without a rig sitting on the table, and who likes the idea of changing the piece rather than the device. At 77 grams with the stock pipe it goes in a jacket pocket, sessions need no water and no setup, and the glass ecosystem is unusually deep because Puffco kept the base compatible across generations. That flexibility is the whole point: a dry stem for flavour, a bubbler when you want cooling, or an adapter onto a rig you already own. Our guide on water pipe use covers the same ideas on the dry herb side.
The limits are battery life and bowl size. Around 15 dabs per charge is short next to a Peak Pro, and the chamber is built for loads about the size of a grain of rice, so it suits light and moderate use rather than long group sessions. It is also glass, so it needs packing with some care, and the ceramic chamber is a consumable rather than a permanent part. If you want the same 3D chamber in something smaller and cheaper the Pivot is the option, and the portable budget concentrate list covers the tier below that.
