Puffco New Peak

Puffco New Peak Overview
The New Peak is Puffco's 2024 rebuild of the e-rig that started the category. The body is smaller and lighter than the original Peak, the micro USB port is gone in favour of USB-C, and the old screw-in atomizer has been replaced by the 3D Chamber, a ceramic cup with the heating element running through its side walls rather than the floor. A sensor in the chamber feeds a microprocessor that holds the set temperature through the whole draw, so the last second of a session tastes like the first.
Key Features & Benefits of the Puffco New Peak
It sits below the Peak Pro in Puffco's range and drops the things that push that price up: there is no Bluetooth, no app, no wireless charging and no oversized 3DXL chamber. What is left is four fixed presets from 490 to 590°F on a single button, water filtration through the Peak Glass 2.0, and a tethered Joystick Cap you swivel during the draw to steer air around the edges of the bowl. Puffco quotes around 35 dabs per charge and a two hour recharge, and the base carries a two year warranty. The glass joint is shared across every Peak generation, so tops bought years ago still fit.

What is different between the New Peak and the original Peak?
The 2018 Peak used a screw-in atomizer with a flat ceramic bowl, micro USB charging and about 30 heat cycles. The New Peak swaps that for the 3D Chamber with heated side walls, adds real-time temperature control and a tethered Joystick Cap, moves to USB-C, and doubles the base warranty to two years.
How does the New Peak compare to the Peak Pro?
The Peak Pro adds Bluetooth and the Connect app for custom temperatures and session lengths, wireless Qi charging, a hard carry case and the much deeper 3DXL chamber. The New Peak keeps the same 360 degree ceramic heating in a smaller body with four fixed presets, for roughly half the money.
What do the four heat settings do?
One click cycles blue at 490°F, green at 510°F, red at 530°F and white at 590°F. Blue keeps delicate terpenes intact with light vapor, green balances flavour and clouds, red pushes harder, and white is the most intense. Green is the sensible starting point.
What are Boost Mode and Intensity Mode?
Double click again once the Peak is up to heat and Boost adds 15 seconds and about 10°C to the running cycle. Five clicks instead starts Intensity Mode, a stronger cycle Puffco designed for dry dabs with no water in the glass.
How long does the New Peak last on a charge?
Puffco rates the sealed 1700mAh battery at around 35 heat cycles, and higher presets cut that down. Triple click to check the level: green is full, orange is half, red is low. A small LED near the port turns red with a few dabs left. USB-C refills it in about two hours.
Does older Peak glass fit the New Peak?
Yes. Puffco kept the same glass joint across every Peak generation, so tops made for the original Peak or the Peak Pro drop straight on, including the Travel Glass and third party art pieces. Fill through the mouthpiece to just above the perc slits, and never fill it while it sits on the base.
Do Peak Pro chambers fit the New Peak?
No. The New Peak takes its own Peak 3D Chamber, and the threading differs from the Peak Pro 3D and 3DXL chambers. Treat the chamber as a consumable and keep a spare, since ceramic performance drops off with repeated heat cycles.
What does the New Peak warranty cover?
Puffco covers the electronic base for two years and the 3D Chamber for six months against defects in materials and workmanship. Glass, normal wear and accident damage are excluded, opening the base voids it, and units bought from unauthorised marketplace sellers are not covered.

Puffco New Peak Cleaning & Maintenance
The New Peak collects residue in three places: inside the ceramic 3D Chamber, on the gold threads where the chamber meets the base, and in the glass top where vapor condenses. Only the first is obvious. Dirty threads are what cause the red and white flashing that owners mistake for a dead chamber, so keeping that joint clean matters as much as keeping the bowl clean.
Quick Cleaning (After Each Session)
- Wipe the chamber while it is warm: Lift the Joystick Cap and run a cotton swab around the bowl in gentle circles. Residue lifts away easily at this point and bakes on once it cools. Use light pressure so you do not damage the heating walls.
- Empty the glass: Pour the water out and never store the Peak with the glass full. The small air holes collect reclaim, and rinsing after each use keeps them clear.
- Check the cap: Give the underside of the Joystick Cap a swab too, since oil collects on the stem.
Deeper Cleaning (Every Few Sessions)
- Cool down and break it down: Power off, lift the glass off the base by pulling it gently towards you, then unscrew the chamber from the base by hand.
- Soak the glass: 20 minutes in 90% or stronger isopropyl, then a full rinse with water so no alcohol taste remains. Let it air dry completely before it goes back on.
- Soak the chamber, but never rinse it: Give it the same 20 minute isopropyl soak, then stand it upside down and let it air dry fully. Water damages the ceramic and the electrical contacts, so keep it away.
- Clean the threads: Run an isopropyl dampened swab over the gold threads in the base and the air path between the chamber and the glass. Never rinse or soak the base itself.
- Reassemble dry: Screw the chamber back in snugly, align the glass inlet hole with the chamber and press it home. If the red and white flash continues, tighten the chamber a quarter turn and clean the pins again.
Care Tips for Better Results
- Puffco suggests a full clean each time the battery runs down, which works out at roughly every 35 dabs.
- Load small amounts on the bottom surface of the chamber, not up the walls, and draw gently. Hard pulls splash concentrate into the air path.
- Use 90% or stronger isopropyl only. Weaker bottles carry water content Puffco does not want near the device.
- A warm chamber loads far more cleanly than a cold one, which is why a heated loading tool is a popular accessory.
- Blackening on the ceramic is normal wear rather than a fault. For general technique, see our guide on how to clean a vaporizer.
Learn More About Puffco New Peak
The New Peak suits someone who wants a countertop rig that needs no setup and no phone. Everything runs from one button, the four presets cannot be edited, and the water top means the vapor arrives cool enough to pass around, which makes it an easy pick for group sessions. Real-time temperature control is the part that matters most day to day: the chamber holds the temperature you picked instead of overshooting at the start, so flavour stays clean to the end of the cycle. If you are moving over from a torch and a quartz banger, our terpene guide explains why that steadiness is worth having.
The trade-offs are size and fixed settings. At 173mm tall with the glass fitted it belongs on a table, so read desktop vs portable vaporizers if you were hoping to carry it. There is no app, so you cannot dial in an exact temperature or lengthen a session the way the Peak Pro allows, and the ceramic chamber is a wear part that needs replacing every so often. It only handles concentrates, not flower, which our guide on vaping concentrates in a dry herb vaporizer puts in context.
