Dr. Dabber XS

Oil goes straight onto the bottom heating plate of the XS quartz eChamber, and from there it creeps towards the threads and the contact points where the chamber meets the body. Above that, the glass attachment collects condensate and stains around the water line. Dr. Dabber allows different alcohol strengths on different parts here, so it is worth keeping them straight.

Quick Cleaning (After Each Session)

1. Dry swab the eChamber: Use a dry cotton swab to mop up leftover residue while the quartz is still warm.
2. Follow with isopropyl: A swab dipped in 91 percent or stronger isopropyl clears stubborn marks. The Iso-Snaps in the kit are made for this.
3. Wipe the carb cap: Reclaim builds on the underside of the glass cap and around its silicone seal.

Deeper Cleaning (Every Few Sessions)

1. Empty the glass: Blow through the mouthpiece to clear the water, then shake out the last drops.
2. Shake the glass clean: Fill the attachment with 91 percent isopropyl and shake until the staining lifts, repeating if needed. Rinse fully with water and air dry.
3. Unthread the eChamber: Take it off the body and swab isopropyl around the heating chamber, the threads and the connection points on both parts. Do not force the threading on the way back, and finger tight is far enough.
4. Clean the tools: The loading tool and the filling funnel take the same isopropyl swab treatment.
5. Let everything air dry: Reassemble only once the chamber, glass and seals are completely dry.

Care Tips for Better Results

• Never soak the eChamber in isopropyl or any other liquid, and never dry burn it. There should always be a small amount of oil in the dish when it heats.
• Use 71 percent or weaker isopropyl on the body and shell. Anything stronger strips the paint finish.
• Chazzing, the dark staining that builds in quartz over time, is normal and does not affect flavour or function.
• Flutter a finger over the carb cap air hole to change the draw resistance rather than pulling harder.
• Replace the eChamber when the dish cracks, leaks or tastes burnt after a full clean, and clean the contacts before assuming a fault is the chamber.

The XS is for someone who wants water cooled dabs somewhere other than a table. It is 164mm tall and 266 grams, the spill proof glass survives being carried with water still in it, and the whole thing runs off one button with four presets. That makes it one of the simpler ways into portable concentrate use, and the included funnel, tether and swab packs mean it is set up for travel out of the box rather than needing extras.

The limits are what you would expect at this size. The dish is small, so it is a one or two dab device rather than something to pass around, and Dr. Dabber recommends staying at or below the 575F setting unless you load heavily, which leaves the top preset mostly unused. The eChamber is a consumable rated at four to twelve months and is excluded from the one year warranty, so factor a replacement into the running cost. It also will not charge from a high wattage adapter such as a laptop charger, which is worth knowing before you travel with it.
