XVape Napalm Detonator

XVape Napalm Detonator

XVape Napalm Detonator Overview

The Napalm Detonator is a collaboration between XVape and the rapper Xzibit's Napalm brand, and underneath the styling it is the XVape Aria. The device keeps the Aria's high impact metal frame, full ceramic conduction oven and isolated airpath, then wraps it in a grenade pattern finish and ships it with a set of Napalm specific extras including a grenade shaped hard case and a flame shaped dab tool.

Key Features & Benefits of the XVape Napalm Detonator

PortableBudgetConductionCeramic ChamberConcentratesElectronic

Like the Aria it is a dual use device, rated for both dry herb and concentrate, with an OLED screen and by-degree temperature control from 212°F to 464°F. Heat up takes around 15 seconds, the session timer switches between five and ten minutes, and the magnetic ceramic mouthpiece carries the filter. XVape quotes up to 20 sessions from the built in 2600mAh cell. The device is a limited edition run rather than a permanent line, so availability comes and goes.

XVape Napalm Detonator FAQs

Is the Napalm Detonator just an XVape Aria?

Essentially yes. XVape's own product copy describes the device as the Aria, the manual in the box is titled the Aria Detonator user guide, and the specifications match. What you pay extra for is the grenade pattern finish, the grenade shaped hard case, the Napalm keychain and the flame shaped dab tool.

What is the Napalm Detonator made of?

The frame is high impact metal rather than plastic, wrapped in a grenade pattern silicone sleeve. The oven is full ceramic with an embedded heating element and an oval shape for better contact with the load, and the magnetic mouthpiece and its filter are also ceramic.

How do I control the temperature and session length?

Three clicks of the power button turn it on or off. The up and down buttons change temperature by the degree, and holding them moves faster. Hold power and up together for three seconds to switch between the five and ten minute session timer, and power and down to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Can the Napalm Detonator handle concentrates?

Yes, with limits. XVape rates the device for flower and concentrate but not oils or liquids. Put the metal concentrate pad into the ceramic chamber first, then load a small amount. Too much concentrate restricts airflow and can damage the device, so keep the doses small.

How long does the battery last and how do I charge it?

XVape quotes up to 20 sessions per charge from the built in 2600mAh cell, and 15 sessions for the Aria at five minute sessions and 356°F. Charge over micro USB at 5V/1A, which takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. Never use a charger above 6V. See our battery guide.

Can I use it with a water pipe?

Yes. A ceramic water pipe adapter is included in the kit, which is one of the more useful additions over a plain Aria kit. Our guide to dry herb vaping with a water pipe covers setup and technique.

Where is the scraping tool?

It is built into the device rather than loose in the case, so it is always with you. XVape also includes the Napalm flame shaped dab tool separately for concentrate loading and for clearing the chamber after a session.

What does the warranty cover?

XVape gives 12 months on the main body and its electronic components. Normal battery degradation, the mouthpiece, accessories, cosmetic damage and user damage are excluded. Cracking the ceramic oven through heavy handed cleaning or impact is the most common way owners lose heating, and that is treated as user damage.

XVape Napalm Detonator Cleaning & Maintenance

XVape's guidance for this device is to clean the chamber and the mouthpiece after every use. The ceramic oven is the part that needs the most care, because cracking it through hard scrubbing or impact is the usual cause of a unit that stops heating properly. The magnetic mouthpiece and its ceramic filter come apart by hand, and the scraping tool you need is built into the device.

Quick Cleaning (After Each Session)

  1. Let it cool, then scrape: Pull the built in scraping tool out and clear the spent material from the ceramic oven while it is still slightly warm.
  2. Brush the chamber: Sweep the ceramic walls and base with the supplied brush so nothing bakes on during the next session.
  3. Wipe the mouthpiece: A cotton swab and an alcohol wipe through the inner parts keeps the draw open. Do not soak the ceramic mouthpiece.

Deeper Cleaning (Every Few Sessions)

  1. Take the filter out: Lift the ceramic filter off the magnet cap so you can reach both sides of it.
  2. Soak the filter: Put it in a glass of isopropyl alcohol until the residue lifts, then finish with a cotton swab and let it dry completely before refitting.
  3. Swab the ceramic oven: Use a swab dampened with isopropyl alcohol and scrub the sides and base in a circular motion. XVape is explicit that you must never fill the chamber with alcohol or any cleaning liquid.
  4. Change the oven screen if it is clogged: Push the long brush up through the intake hole in the base to dislodge the old screen, then seat the new one with the side tabs facing up towards the oven opening and press it home with the brush or the stir tool.
  5. Clean the water pipe adapter separately: The ceramic adapter soaks in alcohol like the filter. Rinse and dry it fully.

Care Tips for Better Results

  • Use a medium, even grind and a moderate pack. A tightly packed conduction oven gives a tight draw and uneven extraction. See our grind guide.
  • Keep all the material inside the ceramic oven. Anything sitting on the rim ends up in the filter.
  • Be gentle with the oven. Cracks from aggressive cleaning or a hard knock are the main cause of weak heating on this platform, and they are not covered by warranty.
  • Use the concentrate pad rather than putting wax straight into the chamber, and clean straight after a concentrate session.
  • For general technique, read our guide on how to clean a dry herb vaporizer.

Learn More About XVape Napalm Detonator

The Napalm Detonator makes sense for someone who wanted the XVape Aria anyway and likes the collaboration styling. The ceramic oven, isolated airpath and by-degree control are a lot of device for the money, which is why the Aria platform keeps turning up in our budget portables picks, and the fact that it takes both flower and concentrate makes it a reasonable single device for people who switch between the two. The grenade case, water pipe adapter and spare parts also mean you are not buying accessories separately, and the included ceramic adapter opens up water pipe use out of the box.

The trade-offs are the same as the Aria's. Conduction means the ceramic oven wall does the heating, so the grind and the pack matter more than they would on a convection device, as covered in our convection vs conduction explainer and our packing guide. There is no airflow adjustment, the cell is sealed in, and charging is micro USB rather than USB-C. Concentrate support is real but limited: XVape allows waxes on a pad and explicitly rules out oils and liquids, which our guide on vaping concentrates in a dry herb vaporizer explains. Being a limited run, it also costs more than a plain Aria and is harder to find.
