How do I pack the Solo Digit's whip?
All the flower sits in the whip, not the wooden box. Grind it fine, put a pinch into the glass chamber at the end marked HOT, and cover the gauze screen without letting it reach the heating rod. Vaporite says not to tamp it down.
What temperature should I set on the Solo Digit?

Is the temperature readout accurate?
Treat it as a dial, not a measurement. Vaporite's own FAQ warns that digital displays mislead when the number does not match the air in the filling chamber, and says to judge by observation instead. The setting is right when a fine white mist rises.
Why switch the Solo Digit off every 20 minutes?
Vaporite recommends about five minutes off after every twenty minutes of use so the ceramic heating rod does not overheat. It is a longevity measure, not a safety cutout, and nothing enforces it, so longer sessions need planning around the break.
How does the Solo Digit differ from the plain Vaporite Solo?

Can the Solo Digit handle concentrates?
No. Vaporite and its retailers list it as a flower device, and the manual describes only ground herb in the glass chamber. The heating rod is fixed in the unit and can only be wiped dry, so anything melted onto it stays.

The printed manual gives 12 months, while vaporite.net advertises a limited lifetime warranty on electronic parts, restricted to units bought direct and registered within seven days. Vaporite Solo Digit Cleaning & Maintenance
Almost everything that gets dirty on the Solo Digit lives in the whip. The wooden box only holds the ceramic heating rod, the LCD and the control board, and nothing but hot air passes through it, so residue collects in the glass chamber, on its screen and along the hose instead. Vaporite's own position is that a correctly run Solo barely dirties at all: visible tar in the hose means you have been running too hot, not that the whip is overdue.

Empty the chamber gently. Tip spent herb out of the glass end rather than knocking it against an ashtray, which is how these wands chip. Let it cool first, since the manual marks both the heating rod and that end of the chamber as hot.

Swirl the glass with alcohol. Vaporite's instructions for the Solo are to swirl isopropyl alcohol or methylated spirits around inside the chamber and through the hose so it dissolves the resin. The company's FAQ also allows a commercial glass pipe cleaner. Rinse with warm water afterwards and let everything dry completely before the chamber goes back on the heater.

Leave the screen in place. The gauze screen sitting in the chamber is fitted as a permanent part, and alcohol swirled through the wand normally clears it. Only replace it if it stays blocked.

Fit a new screen properly. Soak the plastic hose in hot water to loosen its grip on the glass, pull it off the chamber and push the old screen out. Slide a chopstick into the hose end of the chamber to act as a backstop, then press the fresh screen in from the end marked HOT until it meets the chopstick.

Keep liquid out of the base. The ceramic heating rod the chamber seats over is fixed in the unit and should never see alcohol or water. Wipe it with a dry cloth only, when cold. The wooden housing and the display panel take a barely damp cloth, no solvent.

Rest the heater. Vaporite recommends switching the unit off for about five minutes after every twenty minutes of use so the heating rod does not overheat, which matters more to the Solo Digit's lifespan than any cleaning routine. Load enough herb to cover the screen but never so much that it touches the rod.
