What are the five temperature settings on the XVape Avant?
There is no screen, just five fixed presets on a column of LEDs: 356°F, 374°F, 392°F, 410°F and 428°F (180°C to 220°C in 10°C steps). Hold the power button about three seconds to step through them; the Avant remembers your last choice.
Does the XVape Avant vibrate when it is ready?
No, it signals with the LEDs alone, which show battery level and flash rapidly when it runs low. Wait for the light to go solid before drawing. The 3.5 minute auto shutoff starts at power on, not at your first inhale.
Why will my XVape Avant not accept a charge any more?
XVape warns that a battery left below 2 percent will no longer take a charge, so never store it flat. Charge over USB-C from a 5V/1A supply, nothing stronger. The LED lights while charging and goes out when full.
Can you use concentrates in the XVape Avant?
No. It is a dry herb device with a bare ceramic oven and no concentrate pad in the kit, and a warranty covering legal herb use only. The XVape Fog Pro is the sibling that ships a concentrate pad.
Should I buy the XVape Avant or the XVape Aria?
They cost about the same. The Aria is conduction, with an OLED screen, digital temperature control and a vibration alert at target, as our Aria review covers. The Avant is flatter and simpler, with presets and USB-C charging.
Is the Medivape Ultra the same device as the XVape Avant?
Yes, the same hardware under another name. Australian sellers list the XVape Avant ceramic mouthpiece as suitable for the Medivape Ultra too, so Avant mouthpieces and screens are the spares for either.
What does the XVape Avant warranty cover?
One year against defects in manufacturing, workmanship and materials, counted from purchase with a receipt or from the manufacture date without one. Claims need the bill of sale, authenticity code and serial numbers. Cosmetic damage and normal battery wear are excluded.
XVape Avant Cleaning & Maintenance
The Avant holds only about 0.9ml of herb in a shallow ceramic cup that sits directly beneath the magnetic zirconia cap, so there is barely any vapor path between the oven and your lips. Resin lands on the screen inside that cap almost immediately, and the draw stiffens there long before the ceramic itself looks dirty.
-
Let it cool completely: XVape's manual is blunt about not touching the heating chamber or the heating element straight after a session. The whole ceramic heater stays hot well past the 3.5 minute auto shutoff, so give it time before opening anything.
-
Lift the magnetic cap off: The cap pulls straight up off the body against its magnets, with nothing to twist or unscrew. It is the only part XVape treats as user removable alongside the packing tool, and the manual says not to disassemble anything else.
-
Empty the oven with the packing tool: With the cap off, scoop the spent material out of the ceramic cup using the packing tool, then close the cap again. Clearing it while the ABV is still loose saves scrubbing baked residue later.
-
Brush the ceramic cup: The included cleaning brush is what the manual expects you to reach for on the oven walls. Work around the sides and base, then tip the loosened debris out.
-
Wipe, do not soak: The manual's own cleaning instruction is a damp cloth or a cotton swab on the mouthpiece and heating cup, followed by air drying or a soft cloth. Its safety page goes further and states that the device must not be submerged or cleaned with water or isopropyl alcohol. Keep liquid away from the airflow hole and USB-C port either way.
-
Go carefully if you use alcohol: XVape's own blog post on the Avant describes swabbing the chamber with isopropyl and soaking the mouthpiece before rinsing and running a burn off, which contradicts the printed manual. If you follow that route, use a barely damp swab on the ceramic only, never flood the cup, and never let alcohol reach the body or the heater.
-
Swap screens rather than scrub them: A screen sits in the magnetic cap and the kit ships spares. XVape sells an Avant screen set, and the replacement zirconia mouthpiece comes with a matching screen, so a clogged screen is a part to change, not one to attack with solvent.
Clear the oven after every session and do the cap and screen properly once airflow tightens. On battery care, do not store the Avant discharged: the manual warns that below 2 percent it will stop accepting a charge. Use a 5V/1A supply, nothing stronger.
