Healthy Rips Rogue 2

The Rogue 2 swaps the original Rogue's stainless steel chamber for food grade titanium, adds a heating element more than 30 percent larger, and backs its convection with a little radiant heat rather than hot air alone. Residue bakes onto that 12mm chamber wall quickly, and whatever the airflow lifts out of it settles on the steel screen and the glass stem in the mouthpiece above.

1. Lift the mouthpiece from a corner. The sliding standard mouthpiece is held on by a neodymium magnet, and Healthy Rips asks you to push it from a corner rather than the middle, which strains it far less. Tip the spent load out, sweep the chamber with the nylon brush and use the tweezers for material packed into the edges.

2. Take the screen out of the O-ring. The stainless steel mesh screen seats inside the silicone O-ring rather than in the mouthpiece body, so pull the O-ring away first and then press the screen free of it. The manual has you brush both with isopropyl and then rinse them off, not park them in solvent.

3. Order replacements by model. The Rogue 2 shares parts with the Rogue SE, so its mouthpiece and its O-ring sets are both listed as the Slide Edition version and the first Rogue's parts will not fit. Bare screens come ten to a pack under their own code, so a glazed one is a swap, not a scrub.

4. Swab the chamber, never flood it. Run an isopropyl damp cotton bud around the titanium chamber and down the glass stem. Healthy Rips prints a bold warning that no liquid should drip inside, since the heating element sits right under the chamber floor and liquid damage falls outside the warranty. Rebuild the mouthpiece once dry, then let the Rogue 2 heat for two minutes with nothing loaded so the solvent burns off. That whole strip down is a weekly job.

5. Clean the glass away from the device. The dimpled cooling stem, the 3 inch XL stem and the glass adapter for 10, 14 and 18mm water pieces all pull out of the mouthpiece and can take a jar of isopropyl and a warm rinse well away from the electronics. The adapter clouds over faster than either stem.

6. Capsules, port and battery. Running the stainless steel dosing capsules keeps the titanium chamber far cleaner, though the capsules still want brushing. The 3000mAh lithium polymer cell is sealed in: charge at 5V/2A over USB-C, keep lint out of the port, and avoid charging overnight or unattended. From new, give the device one uninterrupted five minute run at the top of its range before any material goes in.
