How does the Ruby Wireless differ from the WOHW V2?

The V2 swaps the 520 gem-cut rubies for plain ruby balls to open up airflow, adds a stainless steel housing option, and uses an XL barrel coil for more heat retention. Its head fits existing docks, so V1 owners can upgrade the housing alone.

Which bowls and glass joints does the Ruby Wireless take?

The housing works from either end. The diffuser side takes the included titanium Matrix bowl, which ships with both 14.4mm and 18.8mm male joints to suit common glass. The injector side takes the glass bowls shared with the Ruby Twist.

Can I use a PID controller I already own?

The dock accepts 20mm and 25mm axial coils, but the XLR pinout has to match. Crossing lists its coils as working with Vapvana, Cannabis Hardware, Auber and Disorderly Conduction controllers, not High Five. A mismatch can ruin both parts and voids the warranty.

What warranty does the Ruby Wireless come with?

The Classic PID controller carries a one year warranty against defects. Beyond that SZ Crossing only replaces items that arrive damaged or faulty, and wants emailed photographs of the product and its packaging within 48 hours of delivery.

Ruby Wireless Cleaning & Maintenance

Herb never touches the 520 gem-cut rubies inside the Ruby Wireless housing, so the head stays cleaner than you would expect and the mess collects in the titanium Matrix bowl instead: on its mesh screen, around the glass joint and in the airway underneath. The head's own maintenance is about heat and handling, since it is lifted by a wooden handle out of a 25mm coil rather than being wired to one.

Burn off first, with the bowl off. Sit the empty housing in the coil and run 600F for 15 to 20 minutes to clear machining oil. The instruction sheet is specific that the bowl should not be heat soaked during this. Clean the bowl separately with an isopropyl wipe or a short soak, rinse it in hot water and dry it.
Brush the screen while it is warm. Empty the bowl at the end of a session and run the wooden handle brush through the screen bed straight away. Spent material lifts easily while it is still hot, and resin that has cooled onto the mesh does not.
Shake the housing before you heat it. A gentle shake tells you whether any rubies have worked loose of their retaining screens. Rattling or movement means the head needs looking at before it goes back into the coil.
Shake wash the Matrix bowl. Pour 91 percent or stronger isopropyl into the bowl, seal both open ends with your fingers, shake it, then rinse under warm running water until the airway runs clear and leave it to air dry. The Viton o-rings tolerate isopropyl, so they can stay seated.
Replace the screen when washing stops helping. Spares are 19.5mm stainless mesh. Press a new one into a slight dome, guide it down level onto the screen deck, and it clips into its groove once it sits flat.
Use heat to free the glass joint. The bowl comes on a 14.4mm post with an 18.8mm spare. Rest the hot housing on the titanium body for around 15 seconds, then hold the glass and the bowl and draw them apart with steady pressure, without twisting or wiggling. Wipe the o-rings and add a little high temperature lubricant before refitting.
Keep the electrics dry. The ruby bed only needs isopropyl if you run concentrates in a banger; with flower it stays clean. Wipe the aluminium dock, keep water away from the coil and PID, and check the braided coil lead and its XLR plug for damage. Leave the SET button alone, as it opens the controller's calibration menu.
