Bomb Aerix

Cleaning the Aerix is the point of its design. The airpath tube, the atomizer and the glass all come away from the base, so residue lives in parts that can be soaked rather than inside the body. Bomb suggests cleaning the atomizer after every use if you dab daily, since leftover concentrate dulls both the heating and the flavour.

Quick Cleaning (After Each Session)

1. Let the atomizer cool: Nothing gets touched while it is hot, and alcohol near a warm chamber is a bad idea.
2. Swab the chamber: Wipe out any residue with a cotton swab and 90 percent or higher isopropyl alcohol.
3. Wipe the carb cap: Water beads and residue on the spinner cap are what make it stiff, so dry it properly before the next session.

Deeper Cleaning (Every Few Sessions)

1. Unscrew the atomizer from the base: It releases with a quarter turn. Take the glass off as well.
2. Soak the chamber, carb cap and airflow tube: Submerge them fully in 90 percent or higher isopropyl alcohol for about 20 minutes. Do not use water for this first stage.
3. Rinse and air dry: Rinse everything thoroughly with clean water and let it dry completely before use. Alcohol left behind tastes obvious.
4. Soak the glass separately: Remove it from the base, submerge it in isopropyl, then rinse with water. Keep water out of the bottom chamber of the glass and let it dry fully before it goes back on.
5. Swab the base contacts: Take the glass and atomizer off, then clean the gold contact points with a swab dipped in isopropyl. No water goes into the base at any time.

Care Tips for Better Results

• Do not reattach the base and atomizer while either is wet or hot. Isopropyl is flammable, so let both dry.
• Keep the water in the glass below a third of the chamber height so nothing gets pulled into the airpath.
• The airpath tube is a consumable. Bomb sells them in five packs, so replace one that has stopped cleaning up.
• A red flashing light points at overheating, a short circuit, a low battery, or an atomizer that is not seated properly.
• Avoid leaving the device on charge for long stretches or using it in extreme temperatures, which is Bomb's own advice for battery health.

The Aerix is aimed at someone who dabs often enough that cleaning has become the deciding factor. The external airpath is a short silicone tube you unclip and soak, so the reclaim that normally sets inside a rig body never gets there, and the atomizer unscrews from the base with a quarter turn. The wide 22mm ceramic chamber holds heat well and gives a bigger dab room to vaporise without splashing into the airway, which is part of the same idea. The compromises come with the price. Bomb warrants the device for a year but the atomizer for only 30 days, so treat that part as a wear item and budget for replacements. Accessories are Aerix specific and do not swap with Bomb's Sykloud or Magloud rigs, which limits your options next to older platforms like the Puffco New Peak.
