Furna FAQs

How do the Furna's swappable ovens work?

Each oven is a self contained chamber with its own mouthpiece, cooling coil and contacts, holding a full load of roughly 0.23 grams. Slide the spent one out, drop the next in, and carry on with no wait for anything to cool. Two is the practical minimum, and the display can show a different symbol per oven so you can tell them apart.

Why does my Furna show Cool mid session?

That is oven protection, not a fault. After a stretch of continuous heating the Furna cools the oven before it will heat again, usually for around a minute. Ejecting the oven speeds that up, and a second packed oven lets you keep going.

What does the Furna concentrate oven do differently?

It is a separate oven with a replaceable ceramic plate heater under a glass bowl, and the concentrate sits directly on the plate. Fitting it swaps the Temp menu for Wattage and adds a Warm preheat. Furna recommended 10 to 20 mg a load, and warned some concentrates start vaporizing at wattages as low as 5 W.

What do Error 3 and Error 4 mean?

Error 3 is high oven resistance and Error 4 is low oven current, and both usually trace back to residue on the contacts. Wipe the oven's pads with isopropyl alcohol and clean the contacts inside the body with an alcohol dampened swab. Our error codes guide covers similar warnings elsewhere.

How is the Furna's battery charged?

The 3500mAh cell is sealed in and not user replaceable, charging over micro-USB in up to about 2.5 hours from flat. Furna specified charging only between 10°C and 35°C, and warned against vaping while it is plugged in.

Can I still buy Furna ovens or claim the warranty?

Furna Inc. has closed and getfurna.com no longer reaches its store, so the two year warranty it advertised has nobody left to honour it. Ovens and replacement heaters now surface only through leftover retailer stock or second hand sales. With the battery sealed in, spare ovens are worth securing while any remain.

Furna Cleaning & Maintenance

Every Furna oven travels with its own mouthpiece attached, so residue never builds up in one shared air path. Each oven stains its own stainless steel bowl and coats the ceramic cooling coil and nib screen above it, and each carries its own contacts, where buildup shows as an error code rather than weak vapor.

  1. Eject and let it cool: Disconnect the charging cable, then slide the oven up and out. Furna's manual is firm that the oven must not be opened, cleaned or refilled while hot, and the magnets stay hot after ejection.

  2. Open and scrape: Press down on the mouthpiece and turn it counter clockwise to release it, then clear the spent herb with the multitool.

  3. Strip the mouthpiece: Push the silicone nib out with the multitool, lift the nib screen by easing back the edge of the silicone, then free the ceramic cooling coil by gently squeezing the top of the nib. Note which way round the coil sits before it comes out, and handle it carefully, as it is brittle and breaks if dropped.

  4. Clean the mouthpiece parts: Furna allows isopropyl alcohol across the whole assembly: nib screen, ceramic coil, silicone nib and mouthpiece body. Scrub with the included brush where needed. Staining on the steel is cosmetic.

  5. Clean the oven without soaking it: The oven must never be submerged. Once scraped out, dip the brush in isopropyl and scrub inside, then stand the oven inverted to dry. Furna's instructions contain no burn off step, so brush and alcohol are the whole method.

  6. Rebuild: Reseat the nib screen by resting it on the ceramic coil and turning it in small circles until the silicone closes around its edge. Furna warns against running the device with the coil, silicone or screen missing.

  7. Wipe the contacts: Error 3 and Error 4 usually mean residue on the contacts. Wipe the oven's pads with a little isopropyl and clean the contacts inside the body with an alcohol dampened cotton swab.

  8. Concentrate oven: Let it cool standing upright so concentrate does not run into the vapor path. Its mouthpiece cleans the same way as the dry herb version, and you should also wipe the underside of the ceramic heater and the contacts inside the oven. That heater sits on magnets and hooks out with the multitool's notch when it is past cleaning.

  9. Routine and battery: Brush each oven once it is spent, saving the full strip down for when the draw tightens. Running several ovens lets you use one while another is cleaned. The 3500mAh cell is built in rather than user replaceable, and Furna specifies charging only between 10°C and 35°C.
