JCVAP Crown Ball Vape Overview
The JCVAP Crown Ball Vape is a two-piece ball vape: a titanium Crown Cap filled with 2mm ruby pearls, and a Crown Bowl that holds the herb on your water pipe. You heat the cap on its own, set it over the loaded bowl and draw, so air pulled through the hot ruby bed does the vaporizing. The cap began as the loader for JCVAP's Herbcloud Crown portable. Owners on Discord and 420 Vape Geeks found it also fit the YLLVAPE IH 3.0 induction heater and the Tinymight T.Bowl, and JCVAP built the Crown Bowl and this kit around that community use in mid 2026.
Key Features & Benefits of the JCVAP Crown Ball Vape
The Crown Cap is CNC machined from grade 2 titanium with a walnut handle and measures 15.6mm inside and 16.6mm outside. JCVAP says it takes around 400 pearls when full; the kit ships with 300 as a balance between cost and performance, and topping it up adds heat retention at the price of a slightly longer heat-up. The Crown Bowl has a 304 stainless body, a threaded male joint in 14mm or 18mm, and a choice of cup in 99.999% quartz, grade 2 titanium or ruby. The titanium cup fits under the cap with about 0.1mm of clearance, while the quartz cup is made from standard 15mm tube and has a little side-to-side play that JCVAP says is expected.
What Comes with the JCVAP Crown Ball Vape?
The $70 kit ($135 with the ruby cup) does not include a heat source:
- JCVAP Crown Cap with walnut handle
- 300 x 2mm ruby pearls, prefilled
- JCVAP Crown Bowl with body, lid, o-ring, cup, mesh screen and wooden handle
- 14mm or 18mm male joint, chosen at checkout
- Protective carrying case
JCVAP also sells a PID Coil and Temperature Controller Kit at $189.24 ($254.24 with the ruby cup) that adds a controller and a barrel coil with a 16.8mm inner diameter, sized to fit the 16.6mm cap. The controller accepts 110 to 240V, and JCVAP ships a 110V or 220V setup to match your region. It sets anywhere from room temperature to 1112°F (600°C), and JCVAP recommends staying under 1000°F (538°C) to protect the coil. The coil uses a 5-pin XLR plug on a 1.5m Kevlar-sheathed cable. Since September 1, 2026 JCVAP's controllers and coils use the wiring it calls Type 1, so check the pinout before pairing a JCVAP coil with another brand's controller. If you already own a 20mm or 25mm coil, a $10 stainless adapter brings it down to fit the cap.
Using the JCVAP Crown Ball Vape
JCVAP's setup guide for a PID is to set 500°F to 550°F and give the cap four to five minutes in the coil, so the titanium and the pearls both reach temperature. While it heats, fill the bowl half to two thirds full without packing it down, since a ball vape needs open airflow. Rest the hot cap on the loaded bowl for about 10 seconds before the first draw, and pull a little harder at first to clear the fresh air out of your water pipe.
Owners heating the cap in a YLLVAPE IH 3.0 report around 45 to 60 seconds at 80W from cold and 20 to 30 seconds for a reheat, and a torch works as well. JCVAP sells a borosilicate glass tube for the IH 3.0 sized for the Crown, after an earlier quartz insert tripped the heater's overcurrent protection for some owners.
If you would rather have the ball bed inside a battery device, the same cap is the loader of the Herbcloud Crown. For other cordless ball heads, compare it with the IO Hornet and the Ruby Wireless, or browse our best ball vaporizers.

JCVAP Crown Ball Vape FAQs
Does the JCVAP Crown Ball Vape come with a heater?
No. The $70 kit is the Crown Cap, the Crown Bowl, 300 ruby pearls and a case. You heat the cap with a PID coil, an induction heater or a torch. JCVAP's PID kit at $189.24 adds a controller and a 16.8mm coil made for the cap, and a $10 adapter lets an existing 20mm or 25mm coil fit it.
What temperature should I set for the Crown Cap?
JCVAP recommends 500°F to 550°F (260°C to 288°C) on a PID, with four to five minutes in the coil from cold. That is the coil temperature, not the temperature your herb reaches; air loses heat on the way through the bowl, as our ball vape guide explains. Keep the controller under 1000°F to protect the coil.
Can you heat the Crown with an induction heater or a torch?
Yes. JCVAP lists the YLLVAPE IH 3.0 as customer tested, and owners on 420 Vape Geeks run it at about 80W for 45 to 60 seconds from cold. JCVAP also sells a borosilicate glass tube for the IH 3.0 sized for the cap. Owners report that torch heating works well too. Some take the cap's silicone o-ring off first so it cannot melt, while others keep the flame away from it and aim at the body and ball chamber.
Which Crown Bowl cup should I pick?
Quartz is JCVAP's pick for the cleanest flavour, it lets you watch the herb change colour, and residue wipes off it easily, but it can break if dropped. Titanium is the durable option and fits under the cap with about 0.1mm of clearance, so a fleck of herb on the outside of the cup can make it stick. The ruby cup costs $65 more and is sold for extra heat retention.
How much herb does the Crown Bowl hold?
JCVAP says to fill it half to two thirds and never pack it, since a ball vape needs open airflow. One owner fits about 0.2g unpacked in the quartz cup with the screen at the bottom. JCVAP's basket screens, sold separately, can sit at the top or bottom of the cup to make the bowl shallower or to hold a preloaded dose in place.
Will the Crown Cap fit my existing bowls?
Owners list the Tinymight T.Bowl, 19mm injector bowls and the IO Hornet stinger bowl as working with the cap, while the Crossing micro pass-through bowl is too small. JCVAP also makes an 8mm adapter that lets DynaVap tips, the Tempest 2 head and similar 8mm heads sit in the Crown Bowl. It recommends measuring your device first, since 8mm parts vary between makers.
Is the Crown Cap the same part used in the Herbcloud Crown?
Yes. JCVAP designed the titanium Crown Cap as the loader for the Herbcloud Crown portable and sells it on its own from $16. The kit adds the Crown Bowl, the prefilled pearls and the case.
What warranty does the JCVAP Crown have?
JCVAP's store terms allow returns of unused items within three days of delivery and promise a free replacement if a part fails within 30 days of normal use. Return shipping is paid by the buyer unless the item is faulty.

JCVAP Crown Ball Vape Cleaning & Maintenance
The Crown has two things to keep clean: the ruby pearls inside the titanium cap, which darken as resin builds up, and the cup in the Crown Bowl where the herb sits. JCVAP's own routine for the cap is a short isopropyl soak, and it suggests cleaning every one to two days for heavy use, every three to five days for moderate use and weekly for light use.
Quick Cleaning (After Each Session)
- Let the cap cool first: Titanium at ball vape temperatures stays hot well after the draw, so park the cap on a heat-safe stand before touching anything but the handle.
- Empty the cup: Unscrew the Crown Bowl lid, lift the cup out and tap the spent herb into the bin while it is still loose.
- Brush the screen: Clear the mesh screen at the bottom of the cup so air can pull through freely on the next bowl.
- Wipe the outside of the cup: A fleck of herb on the outer wall is enough to make the cap stick on the titanium cup, so give it a quick brush before refitting.
Deeper Cleaning (Every Few Days)
- Take out the pearls: Unscrew the top of the Crown Cap and let the pearls fall out into a cup.
- Rinse through the cap: Pour a little isopropyl alcohol over the pearls held in the cap, with a cup underneath, and shake gently to loosen oil and residue.
- Soak for about five minutes: Screw the top back on and swirl the cap in isopropyl. JCVAP warns against soaking longer than 30 minutes because it can affect the seals. The walnut handle is threaded, so you can remove it first.
- Air dry the cap and pearls: Let the cap stand for 5 to 10 minutes, then pour the pearls onto a clean plate and let them dry completely. Do not wipe the pearls with a cloth or paper towel, which can leave fibres or scratch them.
- Clean the cup: Soak or wipe the cup in isopropyl and rinse it. Residue comes off quartz easily, but handle it carefully because it can break. Push any basket screens out from the opposite side with a small blunt rod rather than anything sharp.
- Refill and reassemble: Once nothing smells of alcohol, pour the pearls back into the cap, screw the top on and refit the cup, lid and joint.
Care Tips for Better Results
- Do not burn or torch the pearls clean. JCVAP says high heat damages their surface and lowers how well they transfer heat.
- Keep the bowl loosely filled. Our guide on packing a dry herb vaporizer explains why airflow matters more than load size.
- A medium grind suits the cup. See our grind guide.
- Check the cap's silicone o-ring and replace it if it hardens or tears.
- For general technique, read our guide on how to clean a dry herb vaporizer.
Learn More About JCVAP Crown Ball Vape
The Crown is the cheapest way into a proper ball vape if you already own a heat source. Anyone with a PID and coil, a YLLVAPE IH 3.0 or a decent torch can be running a titanium ruby head on a water pipe for $70, which is a fraction of what a coil-heated desktop like the Ruby Twist costs before glass. It is also unusually modular. The cup comes in quartz, titanium or ruby, the joint swaps between 14mm and 18mm, the handles are threaded, and JCVAP has kept adding parts the community asked for, from basket screens to an 8mm adapter for DynaVap and Tempest 2 heads. Small loads suit it, so it sits comfortably with the microdosing crowd as well as people chasing one big hit.
The trade-off is that you are buying a head, not a finished device. The base kit has no heater, the full PID kit is $189.24, and the induction route needs a separate heater and the right insert. Getting good results takes some dialling in of heat times, loads and bowls, which owners on 420 Vape Geeks clearly enjoy but newcomers may not. The titanium cup's tight fit can bind if herb gets on its outer wall, and JCVAP's PID wiring changed to its Type 1 pinout in September 2026, so mixing its coils with other controllers needs a pinout check. If you want the same ball bed with no assembly, the Herbcloud Crown runs this cap inside a battery device.
