DynaVap RoWynd

DynaVap RoWynd

DynaVap RoWynd Overview

The DynaVap RoWynd is a limited edition made with Rowyn Designs. The stem is cocobolo that has been Lichtenberg burned, so a branching fractal pattern is scorched into the wood, then filled with UV reactive resin that glows under a black light. Stainless steel crowns finish each end. Every unit ships with a certificate declaring it one of thirty two, which puts it closer to a collector's piece than to a regular catalog model like the WoodWynd.

Key Features & Benefits of the DynaVap RoWynd

PortableAnalogHybridWoodMicrodosing

Underneath the decoration it is a conventional DynaVap. The titanium tip and Captive Cap come in DynaVap's dark Obsidium finish to match the cocobolo, the bowl is the standard 0.1g with Adjust-a-Bowl for microdosing, and heating is the usual torch or induction routine with no battery involved. DynaVap fits the stainless M 7 XL condenser assembly rather than the standard one, which lengthens the vapor path and gives six airflow positions set by condenser depth. It is sold in three colorways and shipped within the United States only, with a signature required on delivery.

DynaVap RoWynd FAQs

What is a Lichtenberg burn?

It is a fractal pattern scorched into wood, branching like a lightning strike. Rowyn Designs burns it into the cocobolo stem and then fills the channels with UV reactive resin, which is why the pattern glows under the miniature black light DynaVap includes in the box.

How many RoWynds were made?

Thirty two. Each one ships with a certificate of authenticity stating it is one of thirty two, and DynaVap offers three colorways: orange and green, blue and white, and green.

Is the RoWynd a different vaporizer inside?

No. It uses a standard titanium tip in DynaVap's dark Obsidium finish, a matching Captive Cap, and the stainless steel M 7 XL condenser assembly with mouthpiece. The bowl, heating routine and Adjust-a-Bowl microdose setting all match the rest of the M line.

How does the airflow adjustment work?

The M 7 XL condenser assembly has six preset positions inside the mouthpiece. Pushing the condenser deeper restricts the draw and pulling it out opens it up, and the extra length also gives the vapor further to cool than a standard condenser does.

Does the RoWynd have the same warranty as other DynaVaps?

No. DynaVap's lifetime functional warranty specifically excludes both wood stems and limited run products, so this one falls outside it. The titanium tip, cap and condenser are ordinary DynaVap parts and can be replaced individually.

Can I use an induction heater with it?

Yes. The cap is a standard Captive Cap, so an Ispire Wand or similar handheld heater works, and it keeps the flame away from the wood. Our guide on how to use a DynaVap covers heating technique either way.

Where does DynaVap ship the RoWynd?

The United States only, with a signature required on delivery. That is stated on the product page and reflects the limited run.

DynaVap RoWynd Cleaning & Maintenance

The RoWynd needs sorting by material before anything else. The vapor path is metal from the titanium tip through the stainless condenser to the mouthpiece, so residue lands there and not on the cocobolo. The stem itself is the part that must never see solvent: alcohol dulls the finish, raises the grain and can attack the UV resin filling the Lichtenberg burn. Treat the wood as a dry clean item and the metal as a normal DynaVap.

Quick Cleaning (After Each Session)

  1. Let the tip cool fully: Wait for the cooldown click, then a minute more before handling it or setting it down on the wood.
  2. Empty and brush the bowl: Knock the spent material out and sweep the chamber so the CCD screen stays clear.
  3. Wipe the stem dry: A dry cloth over the cocobolo and the stainless crowns. Nothing wet, nothing solvent based.

Deeper Cleaning (Every Few Sessions)

  1. Break it into five pieces: Cold, the Captive Cap lifts off, the titanium tip pulls out of the stem, and the XL condenser and mouthpiece draw out of the other end. The mouthpiece separates from the condenser.
  2. Sort by material first: Only the tip, condenser and mouthpiece go near isopropyl. The cap and the wooden stem stay out of it, which is DynaVap's own instruction for its wood devices.
  3. Roll the o-rings off: The M 7 XL condenser assembly carries two high temp o-rings. Alcohol dries them out, so take them off, wash them in warm soapy water and refit them damp or with a little DynaWax.
  4. Soak the metal: 15 to 30 minutes in 90 percent or stronger isopropyl, or hot water with dish soap. Push a pipe cleaner through the condenser bore until it comes out clean, then rinse everything in hot water and dry it completely.
  5. Clear the tip's channels: The standard titanium tip has three helical heat exchange channels between its fins. A pipe cleaner and the soak between them keep the draw open.
  6. Swab the cap, never soak it: A cotton bud on the inside is all it needs. Water trapped behind the discs kills the click, and a cap that does get wet wants 24 hours before it sees heat again.
  7. Wipe and feed the wood: A dry cloth on the stem, and a cotton bud around the airport. Every month or two, work a little DynaWax in with your fingers, leave it an hour, then buff off the excess so the cocobolo does not dry out and crack.

Care Tips for Better Results

  • Never soak, wash or dishwasher the stem. Wood and the resin inlay both suffer, and a replacement stem is not something DynaVap can reorder for a run of thirty two.
  • Note which slot the CCD sat in. Low is the full 0.1g bowl, high halves it for microdosing.
  • Push the CCD out from underneath with the condenser tube rather than a sharp tool.
  • Wipe the condenser shaft while you have it out. That surface sets the six airflow positions and a film of resin makes them vague.
  • Keep abrasive pads and polishes away from the Obsidium finish on the tip and cap.
  • An induction heater keeps the flame away from the wood entirely, which is worth considering on a device like this.

Learn More About DynaVap RoWynd

The RoWynd is for someone who already owns a DynaVap and wants a piece with some craft behind it. Performance comes from parts you can buy separately, a titanium tip and the M 7 XL condenser assembly, so what the extra money buys is the hand made cocobolo stem, the resin inlay and a run of thirty two units. If that appeals, it belongs in the same conversation as the WoodWynd and the rest of our DynaVap range. As an analog vaporizer it needs no charging, which is part of why these wooden models hold up as long term keepers.

The drawbacks are worth being clear about. DynaVap's lifetime warranty excludes both wood stems and limited run products, so this one is not covered the way an M 7 is, and a replacement stem is not something you can reorder. Wood also needs more care than metal: no long alcohol soaks, no dishwasher, and an occasional wipe of oil to keep it from drying out. Shipping is United States only with a signature required. If you want the wood look with normal warranty cover and no scarcity, the WoodWynd is the sensible alternative, and our guide on how long dry herb vaporizers last is worth reading before spending this much on a collectible.
