Dynavap The Unidyn

Dynavap The Unidyn Overview
The DynaVap UniDyn is a dry herb vaporizer featuring a medical-grade titanium construction with a UniBody design that integrates the tip and stem into a single piece. This reduces parts count for easier maintenance. It comes with the BallR Cap, which uses stainless steel balls that are designed to improve convection heating. The device aims to deliver vapor while maintaining a simple, durable design.

What does the UniDyn's UniBody design change?
The titanium tip and stem are machined as one piece, so there is no joint at the chamber and no tip to swap. That leaves only two high temp o-rings, both on the condenser, plus a heat break between the chamber and the stem.
How does the UniDyn compare to the DynaVap M 7?
Both hold 0.1g and have Adjust-a-Bowl, but the M 7 is stainless steel with a separate tip, stem and four o-rings. The UniDyn is titanium with two o-rings and ships with the BallR cap and an XL condenser. DynaVap lists it at $119 against $89 for the M 7.
Should I get the UniDyn or the HyperDyn?
The HyperDyn averages 0.25g and carries both 10mm and 14mm tapers, while the UniDyn keeps a 0.1g bowl and one 10mm taper. The HyperDyn is also $229, and its Hyper Cap fits only the Hyper Tip.
Can I use the BallR Cap on my other DynaVaps?
Yes. DynaVap says the BallR Cap fits any standard DynaVap tip except the Hyper Tip, so it moves onto an M or an Omni. Standard caps fit the UniDyn in return, though DynaVap warns they send more heat up the stem.
Does the BallR Cap change how the UniDyn heats?
It holds roughly 34 stainless steel balls of 3mm, and DynaVap says that mass needs at least ten seconds of heat before it clicks. Heat nearer the etched H for lower temperatures and more flavor, nearer the T for thicker vapor. Pack loosely so air can move through the load.
Will the UniDyn fit a water pipe?
The mouthpiece is a 10mm taper and drops into a 10mm female joint. A 14mm joint needs a 10mm to 14mm glass adapter, since the UniDyn has no second taper.
How small a load can the UniDyn take?
The bowl is 0.1g with the stainless CCD screen seated low, and pushing it higher up the bore halves that for microdosing. Draw resistance is set separately by condenser depth, across seven positions.
Dynavap The Unidyn Cleaning & Maintenance
Air enters the UniDyn through the perforated top of the BallR cap and passes over its stainless steel balls before it reaches the herb, so the media sits upstream of the vapour and stays comparatively clean. The residue lands below it: in the titanium bowl, on the stainless CCD screen and along the condenser tube.
-
Three pieces, not four. Pull the BallR cap off, then slide the condenser assembly out of the stem. That is the entire teardown. The tip and stem are a single titanium piece on this model, so there is no joint to separate and nothing to realign afterwards.
-
Roll both o-rings off. The UniDyn carries only two high temp o-rings and both sit on the condenser, because the unibody design removes any need for them at the tip. Take them off before alcohol touches anything, since DynaVap warns that isopropyl dries silicone out.
-
Soak the titanium. The unibody and the bare condenser go into 90% or stronger isopropyl for fifteen to thirty minutes, or hot water with dish soap. All metal DynaVap parts are dishwasher safe. The cap is the exception.
-
Swab the cap, never soak it. Moisture trapped in the crimped end around the bimetallic disc ruins the cap the next time you heat it. DynaVap asks for soapy water on a cotton swab rather than alcohol, which is flammable near a torch, and 24 hours of drying if the cap ever does get wet. Torch soot on the outside lifts with metal polish or a baking soda and vinegar paste, but keep abrasives away from the DuraDyn finish on the body.
-
Leave the balls where they are. The 3mm stainless media stays in place for routine cleaning. The cap does come apart if you want to swap in DynaVap's 2mm stainless or green sapphire Core Balls, and DynaVap demonstrates the process itself, but opening it at every wash only risks scattering them.
-
Screen, then condenser. Push the CCD out from the stem end with the condenser tube, soak it, then press it back in low for the full 0.1g bowl or high for the half bowl. The upper position can be stubborn to seat. Run a pipe cleaner through the condenser and wipe the outside of its shaft, since that surface is what the seven airflow positions grip.
Wet the o-rings with water or DynaWax before refitting. Brush the bowl out after each session and strip the device fully every week or two.
