1. Let it cool before opening: The copper layer expands a long way in this device, so unscrewing a bowl from a hot oven risks binding the threads.
2. Empty the chamber and clear the threads: Tip the spent material out and make sure nothing is left in the threading before the bowl goes back in.
3. Wipe the mouthpiece: A swab through the top keeps the atomizer section from starting a session already loaded with residue.

Deeper Cleaning (Every Few Sessions)

1. Disassemble fully: Unscrew the bowl and separate the sections of the body. Keep track of the spiral filter, which is the part Vestratto specifically warns owners not to lose.
2. Soak in isopropyl: Vestratto confirms isopropyl alcohol is safe on the unit. High strength alcohol on the steel parts lifts most of what a swab will not.
3. Leave the o-rings out: Only the water pipe adapter uses them, they are Viton, and Vestratto does not warranty them, so treat them gently and replace rather than scrub.
4. Rinse and dry completely: Everything must be dry before it is reassembled and heated.
5. Reassemble into a cool oven: Thread the bowl in, tighten to snug, then back it off about a twentieth of a turn so thermal expansion has somewhere to go.

Care Tips for Better Results

• The oven will develop a patina from torch fuel. Vestratto suggests good quality gas for a cleaner burn, and water with dish soap or a metal cleaner such as Bar Keepers Friend to bring it back.
• A loose pack cleans up better than a tight one, and extracts better too.
• Never force a bowl that will not turn. Let the device cool completely and try again.
• Keep the spiral filter clear. It is a small titanium part and it is what stops material travelling up the path.
