Dynavap The M 7 Cleaning & Maintenance

The M 7 tip carries more mass than earlier M chambers and drops the fins entirely, so heat lingers in the 0.1g bowl and bakes resin onto the stainless CCD at its base. Most of the rest condenses inside the condenser bore, and the airport cut into the textured stem eventually gums up until the pivot rocker feels like it is doing nothing.

  1. Take it down to five pieces. Slide the captive cap off the tip, pull the tip from the stem, then draw the condenser out through the mouthpiece end. The CCD can stay in the tip. If a joint has seized on resin, DynaVap says to warm it under the hot tap and work it loose with a twisting pull instead of levering it.

  2. Pull the o-rings before any solvent. There are two condenser o-rings and two high temp o-rings on the tip. Isopropyl dries them out, so roll them off and wash them in warm soapy water, or leave them fitted and keep them waxed with DynaWax.

  3. Soak the bare stainless. Tip, stem and condenser go into 90% or stronger isopropyl for 15 to 30 minutes, or hot water with dish soap. Everything but the cap and rings is metal here, so those parts are dishwasher safe too.

  4. Never soak the captive cap. Swab the inside with a cotton bud instead. Water caught in the crimped end will damage the cap on the next heat cycle, and DynaVap wants a full day of drying if it does get wet. Soot on the outside lifts with stainless polish or baking soda paste, but keep abrasive pads away from it.

  5. Floss the condenser, clear the airport. Work an alcohol-wetted pipe cleaner back and forth inside the condenser until it stops picking up brown, since reclaim collects there first. A cotton bud handles the airport hole and the tapered 10mm mouthpiece end that seats into glass.

  6. Note the CCD slot before moving it. The lower slot gives the full bowl, the upper one halves it to roughly 0.05g for microdosing. Push the screen out from underneath with the condenser tube, soak it with everything else, then press it back into the slot you want. DynaVap sells stainless spares in packs of three for the day one will not come clean.

  7. Finish with hot water and patience. Give every part a hot rinse and let it dry completely, since any alcohol left in the stem is a fire risk once the torch comes out. A film of water or DynaWax on the condenser o-rings lets them slide back through the stem without tearing, then seat the condenser fully.

Brush the bowl out every few sessions and strip it down fully every week or two if you use it daily. Replace the high temp o-rings once the tip wobbles, the draw whistles or the seal feels loose.
