Cloudious9 designed the Atomic9 around three places residue collects, and all three come apart or open up. Those are the vapor cooling chamber inside the mouthpiece, the residue chamber behind the silicone plug in the middle of the body, and the ceramic heating chamber itself. Nothing else is meant to be opened, and the manual warns that disassembling the device further voids the warranty.

Quick Cleaning (After Each Session)

1. Let it cool fully: The manual asks for adequate cooling time before touching the cleaning chamber or the ceramic chamber, and says never to empty the residue chamber while the device is in use.
2. Flip the mouthpiece and empty the chamber: Tip the spent load out of the ceramic chamber while it is still warm, when it lifts away cleanly.
3. Wipe around the chamber mouth: Clear any loose material from the rim so the magnetic mouthpiece can close flat. A mouthpiece that does not seat properly leaks vapor.
4. Retract the shovel before pocketing it: Slide the switch down so the loading tool sits flush and does not collect debris.

Deeper Cleaning (Every Few Sessions)

1. Strip the cooling chamber: Pull the white cooling chamber out of the mouthpiece, then turn the metal plate counterclockwise to open it. Cloudious9 says the whole interior can then be rinsed and cleaned with alcohol, soapy water or another safe cleaning agent.
2. Empty the residue chamber: Use a small flat head screwdriver in the groove on the silicone plug in the middle of the body to pop it open, then pull the plug out. Rinse away the residue under running water and dry the plug fully before pushing it back in.
3. Unblock the chamber air holes: Poke the air holes at the bottom of the ceramic chamber with a fine point tip. Anything you push through drops into the residue chamber and comes out with it.
4. Swab the ceramic chamber: A cotton bud dipped in isopropyl clears the walls. Hold the Atomic9 upside down while you do it so nothing runs down into the heater.
5. Dry everything before reassembly: The manual warns against humid environments and submerging the device, so give the cooling chamber and the plug time to dry completely before refitting.

Care Tips for Better Results

• Nothing is included in the box for cleaning, so keep cotton buds, isopropyl and a fine pick with the device.
• Pack the narrow chamber firmly rather than loosely. Reviewers found a firm pack gives noticeably better sessions than a loose one on this chamber shape.
• Use a medium grind so fines do not drop straight through the air holes into the residue chamber. See our grind guide.

The Atomic9 makes the most sense as a cheap, small second device rather than a daily driver. At 98mm tall and 74 grams it slips into a pocket like a concentrate pen, which is why it lands on our most discreet dry herb vaporizers shortlist, and the 120 second heating cycle suits a quick session rather than a long sit down. The narrow ceramic chamber holds roughly 0.2 grams, so it works for microdosing without wasting a load, and the retractable shovel makes filling that deep chamber far less fiddly than it looks. The detachable cooling piece in the mouthpiece is unusual at this price and does noticeably take the edge off the vapor.

The compromises are real, and the battery is the biggest one. Cloudious9 claims nine to twelve sessions from the 900mAh cell, but Toronto Vaporizer measured three to six, and the cell is sealed in and charges over micro USB rather than USB-C. Changing temperature also means holding the button, cycling through six presets and confirming, which is slower than any device with a screen.
