Hydrology9 NX

The NX dirties at two different rates. The swappable heating module on top takes the residue, especially the quartz bucket in the extract atomizer, while the borosilicate water tube and sealed air path beneath it slowly collect the film water filtration leaves behind.

1. Let it cool fully: Cloudious9 states the device must be off and completely cool before the atomizer is cleaned. Pull the extract atomizer or loose leaf chamber out of its operating position.

2. Bucket after every extract session: The manual asks for the glass quartz bucket to be cleaned after each use to protect flavor. Lift the magnetic bucket cover straight up and swab the bucket out. The replacement concentrate chamber ships with a quartz and a ceramic bucket, so a spent bucket is a part swap.

3. Pull the air path seal: Take the air path seal off whichever module you are running. Cloudious9 allows a cotton swab, isopropyl alcohol or water on it. With the module out, its own air path is reachable too.

4. Shake out the water chamber: Fill the NX with clean water, cover the top with your hand, shake, then tip it out. Do not leave water standing in the glass between sessions.

5. Strip the air path when draw tightens: Unscrew the mouthpiece and aluminum middle connector counter clockwise, then lift the glass tube straight out; it does not need twisting. Unscrew the NX washer counter clockwise, take off the washer seal and pull the stainless steel tube up.

6. Never twist the anti-leak tube: That tube lifts out by pulling directly up, and twisting it is the one action Cloudious9 warns against. It cleans with isopropyl or water.

7. Battery out, bottom seal out: Turn the battery counter clockwise to loosen it, then lift the main bottom silicone seal. That exposes the air path between the module and the water section, which the supplied brush is meant for. Keep liquid off the battery thread, the base contacts that identify the fitted chamber, and the magnetic charging port.

8. Rebuild in order: Sit the bottom seal with its contour in the concave part of the base, air path holes aligned and pressed flat. Screw the battery in clockwise until snug but not overtightened, push the anti-leak tube down without twisting, align the washer seal grooves, then turn the NX washer clockwise until tight.

Cloudious9 support blames almost all NX leaking on a washer that was not turned down far enough, and sells spare seals. Dry every part before reassembly, as the manual has no burn-off step and warns against storing the NX anywhere humid. Full teardown is an as-needed job. A white flashing light means the base is not reading the chamber, usually because it is not seated properly.
