What does the IQ2 Carbon include that the standard IQ2 does not?

Past the 3K weave carbon fiber shell and USB-C charging, the kit adds a Hydrotube, dosage grinder, six steel pods, a pod holder and a keychain engraved with the unit's number from a run of 1000. At 499 dollars against 249 for the standard IQ2, most of the gap is accessories.

Which way do I turn the Air Dial?

DaVinci says turning the bottom lid dial counterclockwise increases airflow and lowers draw resistance, while clockwise restricts it for denser vapor. The manual frames it as cooler, lighter vapor against a thicker draw.

Can I use the IQ2 Carbon while it is charging?

Yes, though DaVinci notes the battery then fills more slowly. Our review put a full charge at roughly two hours over USB-C against six on the micro USB IQ2. DaVinci warns that USB-C to USB-C cables are not compatible, so charge with USB-A to USB-C.

How do the six steel pods differ from the standard IQ2 pod?

The standard IQ2 ships one ceramic pod rated to 0.2g. The Carbon brings six 304 stainless capsules holding up to 0.3g, which DaVinci says heat 16 percent faster, and the grinder fills all six in one pass. Paired with the pearl, which trims oven volume by up to 50 percent, that makes it a complete microdosing kit.

Does the included Hydrotube work with anything else?

The borosilicate tube accepts any 10mm male ground glass joint, so it fits DaVinci's other devices, and the 10mm mouthpiece reaches third party pieces. Our review found it heavy enough to topple the vaporizer, so lift it off before setting the Carbon down.

What does the 10 year warranty actually cover?

The ten years apply to the IQ2 itself, and DaVinci states the limited warranty does not extend to accessories, leaving the Hydrotube, grinder, pods and holder outside it. Cosmetic damage such as scratches is excluded, so the fingerprint prone shell our review noted is your problem. Register within 30 days of purchase to keep cover.

DaVinci IQ2 Carbon Cleaning & Maintenance

The 3K weave carbon shell is the part you handle most, and in our review it took fingerprints readily. DaVinci allows isopropyl on the IQ2 body, but that weave sits under a clear finish, so on the Carbon the alcohol belongs on a wipe rather than in a bath.

Wipe the shell, never soak it: The alcohol wipes DaVinci packs with the IQ2 are 70 percent isopropyl, enough for resin marks on the outside. Wipe, then dry the weave with a microfibre cloth to lift the fingerprints. Two manual rules cover the whole unit: no abrasive materials, and do not submerge it in liquid.
Soak the five removable pieces: DaVinci's soak list is the flat mouthpiece, the 10mm water pipe adapter, the dosage pod, the ceramic extract disc, and the zirconia flavor chamber with its lid. Isopropyl as needed, a rinse of water after, then dry fully.
Use the pick on the flavor chamber: The onboard pick tool clips inside the top lid, against the inner wall. Hook it into the top of the zirconia chamber to draw it out, then lift the chamber lid the same way. The Carbon's engraved keychain carries a second tool.
Pearl and oven: Swab gently around the zirconia pearl and its post, since that spacer sets oven volume and stiffens as residue collects. Clear the holes in the glass lined ceramic oven with the pointed end of the pick. Staining in the ceramic is permanent and not a fault.
Free a stiff air dial: DaVinci's instruction is to put alcohol onto the dial from underneath and turn it back and forth so it works into the spaces of the dial. The dial sits in the carbon bottom lid, so keep the liquid on the dial itself.
Battery door hinge: With 91 percent isopropyl on a cotton swab, clean the hinge and work the door open and shut for 15 to 30 seconds, a few times over. Wipe the negative end of the 18650 and the underside of the door. The warranty excludes hinge and mouthpiece wear.
Six pods instead of one: The Carbon kit brings six stainless steel dosage pods, a holder and a dosage grinder. DaVinci asks for a pod to be cleaned after every use and warns that extract builds heavy resin, which is why spares are supplied.
Port and glass: Swab lint out of the USB-C port, and note that DaVinci's charging wants a USB-A to USB-C cable rather than C to C. Flush the Hydrotube with isopropyl, shake it out, then repeat with water.
