OG E-Nano FAQs

How is the OG E-Nano different from the NXT and XL?

The OG is the original log, the shortest of the three at 95mm. Epickai gave the NXT a more solid base and better heat distribution, and the XL a larger heater core, but the NXT still takes OG glass, cords and screens, so only the XL needs its own accessories.

Is the OG E-Nano still being made?

Epickai's kits page now points buyers to the NXT or XL; the Original E-Nano collection holds only blemished, one-off bodies, all sold out. OG stems, screens, cords, stands and adapters remain stocked separately, so an owned unit stays serviceable.

What does the dial on the OG E-Nano power cord do?

The 2.5 metre cord detaches from the body and carries the rotary control, with no separate power brick. The dial also acts as the on and off switch, running zero to 560°F; users outside the US need a 50W step down transformer.

How much herb goes in an OG E-Nano stem?

The quick start guide asks for 0.025 to 0.05 grams, since packing more restricts airflow rather than adding vapor. Standard stems use an adjustable stainless basket screen that the E-pick shifts to set fill depth.

Should the OG E-Nano stay plugged in?

Epickai built it to stay plugged in around the clock, drawing 5 to 6 watts at dial setting 4 to 5, where the optional aroma cup diffuses essential oils. From cold, set the dial between 6.5 and 8 and allow 2 to 4 minutes before the first draw.

Does the OG E-Nano work with a water pipe?

Yes, with a separate adapter. Epickai sells OG GonG adapters in 14mm and 19mm, plus the E-Nano SonG, a glass and silicone piece covering both 14mm and 18/19mm joints; none fit the XL.

What does the OG E-Nano warranty cover?

Epickai lists three years on the unit and a lifetime warranty on the ceramic heating element. Glass is excluded, so stems and adapters count as consumables; a spare stem is worth keeping on hand.

OG E-Nano Cleaning & Maintenance

The OG takes 0.025 to 0.05 grams into a glass stem, so the bowl is shallow and the screen sits right against the load. The mess ends up inside that stem and around the lip of the heater port, where flakes drop while you load and stir. The wooden body stays clean, which matters, because its shellac can never meet a solvent.

  1. Wind the dial down and unplug it: Epickai builds the OG to live plugged in around the clock, sitting at 4 or 5 on the dial for the aromatherapy cup, so it is rarely cold. Turn the rotary control to zero, unplug at the wall, then pull the detachable cord from the body.

  2. Damp cloth on the wood, nothing else: The quick start guide asks for light cleaning only, a wipe of the outside with a cloth. Alcohol or citrus damages the natural shellac sealing the maple, cherry or walnut, so keep swabs and wipes off the body.

  3. Soak the stem in alcohol and salt: Epickai drops the glass stem into 70 percent alcohol with salt for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinses it under water. Their stem FAQ gives a stronger route: 91 percent isopropyl or higher for 30 minutes, then a pipe cleaner through the bore and a toothpick on baked spots. Household cleaners are ruled out for the residue they leave. Give the glass a couple of hours to dry through.

  4. Move the basket screen before soaking: Standard OG stems use a stainless basket screen that slides inside the tube, and the E-Pick in the kit is what shifts it and sets fill depth. Push it clear so alcohol reaches both faces. Screens come in fives and fit every piece of OG glass, stems, gongs and aromatherapy cups alike, so swap a stiff one rather than picking at it. Glass screen stems have theirs fused in and need only the soak.

  5. Keep the heater port dry: Compressed air clears loose debris first, then a Q-tip barely damp with alcohol worked around the inside only. Convection keeps the airpath clear of circuitry, but liquid pooled in the port has nowhere to drain, and alcohol over the lip lands on the finish.

  6. Shake the water adapters clean: The 14mm and 19mm GonGs and the silicone jointed SonG follow Epickai's adapter kit method: stand the piece in a plastic tube of rubbing alcohol, shake, rinse and dry. Slide the silicone stem guard off first and keep it out of solvent.

Do the stems every few sessions, and never leave a hot one parked on the heater port afterwards. Glass carries a 30 day warranty against the unit's three years, so a spare stem is cheap insurance.
