How does the AUXO Calent heat dry herb?
Conduction plus infrared, in a stainless steel oven AUXO fills to 0.3g. The manual asks for a medium grind, since powdery material restricts airflow, and wants the herb kept below the black area marked on the oven.
What temperature settings does the AUXO Calent have?
Four presets, stepped with the plus and minus buttons: 180°C, 200°C, 210°C and 220°C. No figure appears on the body, so the LED ring stands in, four bars closing into a full circle at setting four.
How long is a Calent session?
Three minutes. Hold plus for three seconds and the Calent vibrates, blinks blue through about 30 seconds of preheating, then holds steady green until it returns to blue at the end.
Can I use concentrates in the AUXO Calent?
No. AUXO lists the oven as dry herb only and sells no concentrate insert or capsule for it.
How long does the Calent battery last?
AUXO rates the 2900mAh battery at roughly 20 sessions, recharged in about 2.5 hours over USB-C from a 5V 2A adapter. Triple press the power button to read the level in 25% bars. It will not run while charging.
Is the Calent's mouthpiece also the lid?
Yes. The zirconia mouthpiece rotates 180 degrees and lifts away magnetically to expose the oven, then swivels 360 degrees once reseated. It strips into eight parts, of which only the zirconia may be soaked, and AUXO sells no Calent spares.
What does AUXO's Calent warranty exclude?
It covers the original purchaser only, does not transfer, and excludes third party purchases, accidental and moisture damage, cosmetic wear, normal battery decline and all accessories. AUXO's manual gives the term as ten years while its current site FAQ says two, so confirm before buying.
How does the AUXO Calent compare to the AUXO Celsius?
The Calent is the simpler one: dry herb only, four presets topping out at 220°C, around 20 sessions per charge. The Celsius takes concentrates and reaches 260°C, but is rated for nine sessions.
AUXO Calent Cleaning & Maintenance
The Calent tamps 0.3g of herb against the walls of a small stainless steel oven and heats it by conduction with infrared, so resin bakes onto the oven wall and builds up around the rim. The magnetic mouthpiece sits directly on that rim, and its zirconia stem, protruding filter and hidden inner compartment collect whatever the vapor carries up. AUXO asks for cleaning after every use.
-
Wait for room temperature: AUXO is firm that nothing is cleaned until the Calent is off and fully cool. The stainless oven holds heat after a three minute session, and the manual says not to handle the mouthpiece while it is hot.
-
Brush the oven out: Lift the magnetic mouthpiece away to expose the oven, then work the included brush around the wall and base to lift loose residue. That brush is the only tool in the box, so keep track of it.
-
Swab the oven with isopropyl: Dip a cotton swab in 90% isopropyl and wipe the oven clean. AUXO specifies swabbing over soaking: the oven is fixed in the body, and the base must never go into liquid.
-
Clear the oven rim: AUXO wants the rim free of debris so the magnetic mouthpiece seats properly. Grit left there gives a loose fit and a weak draw.
-
Run the brush through the mouthpiece: Feed the brush into the opening, push it to the far end and work it back and forth. Cotton pads dabbed with 90% isopropyl handle the outer surfaces.
-
Strip the mouthpiece down: It separates into eight pieces. Remove the protruding filter and the blue silicone band first, which opens the inner compartment, then pull the metal tab holding the rotating mouthpiece out backwards. AUXO hosts disassembly videos on its site and YouTube channel, worth watching first since the parts are small.
-
Submerge only the zirconia: The zirconia mouthpiece is the single part AUXO clears for a soak in 90% isopropyl. The filter, silicone band, metal tab and housing get alcohol wipes instead. Dry everything completely before reassembly.
-
Dry it before you heat it: Isopropyl is flammable, so AUXO wants the device fully dry before power goes back on. The manual prescribes no burn off run.
When vapor thins out, AUXO's own checks are a blocked air intake window and residue in the oven or mouthpiece. Grind matters too: powdery material restricts airflow and clogs the filter sooner, so stay with a medium grind. AUXO lists no spare filters or mouthpiece parts for the Calent, so the filter is something you clean rather than replace. Charge between 10 and 45 degrees Celsius, never use the device while it charges, and check Device Settings in the AUXO Connect app for firmware updates.
