Can I put dry herb in the Session Odyssey?
KandyPens says no: the Session is for concentrates only, and dry material should never touch the ceramic atomizer. Dual use means glass rig or handheld wax pen, not flower.
How is the Odyssey different from the other Session models?
It is a finish, not a revision. KandyPens listed Black, Pearl White, Red and Odyssey at the same price with the same hardware. Replacement atomizers and caps are sold per colour.
Can I use a 510 atomizer or cartridge with it?
No. The ceramic atomizer uses a proprietary fitting that is not 510 compatible, so carts and third party coils will not seat. The lifetime warranty covers the battery, not the atomizer.
How much concentrate should I load?
The instruction card asks for about 0.1g, roughly a grain of rice, because the chamber needs airflow to breathe. Past about 0.2g it floods, and lighter loads make the atomizer last longer.
How do the voltage settings and sesh mode work?
Five clicks power it on or off and three clicks cycle four colour coded voltage settings, yellow lowest through blue highest. Two clicks start a 60 second sesh mode, or hold the button to fire manually.
Do I use the magnetic cap or the glass mouthpiece?
They swap over the same atomizer. The magnetic cap has a small carb hole and stays on when the device sits on a rig; lift it off and fit the glass mouthpiece for handheld use.
Will the Session Odyssey fit my rig?
The included 14mm male stem suits most 14mm female joints and pulls straight out, held only by three clear o-rings, so check those if it wobbles. An 18mm joint needs an adapter, and turning the button towards you helps stop small rigs tipping. More in our water pipe compatible vaporizers list.
How long does the battery last?
The 1200mAh cell charges over USB-C in about an hour and four white LEDs show the level. It also charges pass through, so you can keep going while plugged in.
Session Odyssey Cleaning & Maintenance
The Session Odyssey pushes vapour through its own body. The air path runs vertically inside the aluminium shell, so a dab loaded into the ceramic chamber on top leaves residue in the metal tube running through the middle of the device before it ever reaches the glass mouthpiece or the 14mm adapter at the bottom. The magnetic cap that sits directly over the chamber takes the worst of it.
-
Swab the chamber while it is warm: KandyPens' own answer for the Session coil is a Q-tip after use. The atomizer is all ceramic, a plate element rather than a wrapped coil with wicking, so a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl can go straight over the chamber floor and walls with nothing to snag on.
-
Soaking is allowed, water is not: for a deeper clean KandyPens says to take the atomizer out of the device and submerge it in 90 percent isopropyl for five to ten minutes, then air dry it fully before refitting. The one hard rule is that water must never go into the Session coil.
-
Twist out the mouthpiece filter: the filter inside the magnetic glass mouthpiece clogs before anything else does. Grip its sides, turn it counter clockwise to free it, and soak it in 90 percent isopropyl as well.
-
Strip the body for a full clean: pull the 14mm glass adapter straight out of the base, it is held only by three clear o-rings, then lift the magnetic cap off, remove the atomizer and take out the metal air tube. Soak those small parts in alcohol, wipe them, and run a dry swab down the inside of the empty body. Do not pour alcohol into the shell itself.
-
Never fire it empty: there is no burn-off shortcut on this one. KandyPens warns that heating the ceramic coil with nothing on it sends it into thermal shock and cracks it. Load first, heat second, and if the material is used up before the 60 second sesh mode ends, double click to stop rather than let it run dry.
Most of the mess starts with overfilling. The instruction card asks for around 0.1g per session, about the size of a grain of rice, because the chamber needs airflow to breathe, and going past 0.2g floods it and sends oil down into the tube. The atomizer is a consumable on a proprietary, non 510 fitting, so keep a spare in the carry bag. A red flash usually means the device is not reading the atomizer, so reseat it and clean the connection before assuming the coil is dead. KandyPens' lifetime warranty covers the battery, not the atomizer.
