How fast does the Herbalizer heat up?
Herbalizer specifies a typical heat-up of 8 to 16 seconds and a cool-down of 37 seconds, since the halogen lamp heats air rather than the bowl. Running the fan brings the temperature down faster when you drop to a lower setting.
What is the difference between the bag, Inspirator and freestyle modes?
The magnetic bowl sits on the oven outlet for all three. A bag presses over the bowl outlet nozzle and the fan fills it, the Inspirator whip plugs into the top of the bowl, and freestyle simply vents vapor into the room.
Why does the Herbalizer stop at 445F?
Herbalizer set the ceiling below combustion, which it puts at 451F. The range starts at 290F and moves in single degrees, quoted as stable to within 5F. Our guide on what temperature to vape flower covers where to start.
Can you use concentrates in the Herbalizer?
Yes, on the included pads. Put an empty pad in the bowl, rest the loaded pad on top with the extract facing up, and work between 400F and 445F.
Does the Herbalizer shut itself off?
Closing the clamshell lid powers it down, and it shuts off on its own after 30 minutes of inactivity. A three axis accelerometer also stops the heater and fan if the unit tips past 30 degrees.
Is the Herbalizer still made, and where do parts come from?
It is still built and sold in the United States, and Herbalizer's own store carries the spares. The consumables are the stainless bowl screens, sold in twelves, the silicone Inspirator tube, sold in threes, and the bags, sold in fours.
What does the Herbalizer warranty cover?
One year against defects, extendable to three years if you register within the first year. It covers the device but excludes the bowl, whip assembly and bag, and applies only to units bought in the United States or Canada from Herbalizer or an authorized retailer.
Herbalizer Cleaning & Maintenance
The halogen lamp inside the Herbalizer heats air rather than the herb, so nothing bakes onto the heater. Residue collects further along the path: inside the stainless steel magnetic bowl, on its two screens, and through the Inspirator's silicone tube and the bag. Herbalizer warns that concentrate use clogs the upper bowl screen fastest.

Gather the kit: the included cleaning brush, isopropyl alcohol, warm water, cotton swabs and a soft cloth. The manufacturer's manual says 99 percent isopropyl works better than 70 percent, and that every Herbalizer part is safe to soak in it.

Take the bowl apart: tilt the bowl lid forward to free it from the oven outlet rather than pulling straight up, then twist the two halves a quarter turn counter clockwise to separate them. Slide off the silicone grips and push both screens out with the back end of the cleaning brush.

Soak the bowl and screens: rinse under warm water, then soak the halves and screens in isopropyl for 10 minutes, agitating the cup every few minutes. Herbalizer suggests adding salt, which will not dissolve and acts as an abrasive. Finish with an alcohol dipped cotton swab, rinse in warm water and dry. Refit the screens, then line the grips up with the grooves. The bowl must be completely dry before it goes back on.

Clean the Inspirator: pull the mouthpiece and the bowl plug out of the silicone tube and soak both for 10 minutes. Rinse the tube in warm water and rub it down with alcohol and a cloth rather than soaking it, then push the two ends back in. Replace the tube once kinking starts restricting airflow.

Wipe the bag and pads: swab the bag mouthpiece with isopropyl after every session, inside and out, then squeeze the air out and fold the bag away. Concentrate pads take the same 10 minute soak as the bowl.

Wipe the body, never soak it: a cloth dampened with isopropyl on the ring where the bowl sits and on the outer case is all the unit takes. Damp tools only, since liquid and solvent damage void the warranty, which already excludes the bowl, whip assembly and bag. Keep the air intake on the underside clear and run the unit on a hard, level surface.
Herbalizer expects a month or more between deep cleans, and emptying the bowl while it is still warm, carefully, stretches that further. Slow bag fills usually mean the top screen has loaded up. Swap the top and bottom screens and run at 445F to self clean, fit a fresh stainless screen, or blow through the top half of a cooled bowl to shift a clog.
