The Best Volcano Hybrid Accessories: Easy Valve vs Solid Valve, Balloons, Tubes, Dosing Capsules and Spares

The Volcano has fewer accessories than a DynaVap and needs more of them. A Volcano Hybrid or Volcano Classic is a hot air generator, and everything the vapor touches is a separate part that Storz & Bickel sells on its own: the filling chamber, the valve, the balloon, the tube, the screens, even the foam filter in the base. Several of those parts wear out on a schedule. Balloons cloud over, screens clog, filters go gray, cap rings lose their seal, and the machine itself keeps running for two decades while you feed it. So the accessory question for a Volcano is less "what would be fun" and more "what will I be buying anyway, and which version should I buy first."

This guide covers both machines. Where a part fits the Hybrid and the Classic we say so, and where it does not we say that too, because Storz & Bickel sells two filling chambers, two dosing capsule adapters, two air filter sets, and two wear and tear sets with near-identical names, and ordering the wrong one is the most common Volcano mistake there is. Everything here is built on what Storz & Bickel's own US store, The Stash Shack, Headshop.com, Smoke Cartel, DankStop, Daily High Club, Slick Vapes, and To The Cloud had listed at the time of writing in September 2026, with stock and prices as we found them. There is no Volcano review on this site, so the descriptions come from Storz & Bickel's documentation and the retailers' listings rather than our own bench. How a Volcano Is Put Together

Every accessory decision gets easier once you can name the parts. From the bottom up:

• The hot air generator. The cone-shaped base. It holds the heater, the air pump, and, in the bottom, a foam air filter under a screw-on cap. On the Classic the heater is set with a dial from 1 to 9 and two rocker switches; on the Hybrid it is a touch panel with a digital readout from 40 to 230 C, a heat-up of about 40 seconds, and Bluetooth. The base is the part that lasts twenty years, and Storz & Bickel sells a power cord for the Hybrid and nothing else for the base of either machine.
• The filling chamber. The round cartridge that sits on top of the base and holds the herb between two screens. The Hybrid chamber locks onto the base; the Classic's Easy Valve chamber simply sits on it. That one difference decides most of the compatibility questions below.
• The valve. What sits on top of the chamber and captures the vapor. An Easy Valve is a balloon, valve, and mouthpiece pre-assembled into one disposable unit. A Solid Valve is a reusable stainless steel valve you fit your own balloon to, and it uses its own filling chamber. The Hybrid only takes Easy Valve.
• The tube. Hybrid only. A silicone tube with a swivelling connector called the Tube Flexer that seats in the chamber where a balloon would go, so you draw directly from the machine while the pump runs.
• The consumables. Ø 30 mm screens, cap rings that seal the chamber to the valve, filling chamber clips on the Classic, air filters, and the balloons themselves.

Here is which part belongs to which machine. The Volcano Digit, the digital Classic that Storz & Bickel discontinued when the Hybrid arrived, takes the same parts as the Classic throughout.

Two rules cover most of it. Anything that goes on top of the chamber and is called Easy Valve fits both machines, and anything called a chamber, an adapter, a filter, or a wear and tear set is sold in a Hybrid version and a Classic version and you need the one for your machine.

Easy Valve vs Solid Valve: The Decision That Shapes Everything Else

Storz & Bickel has sold two valve systems for the Volcano since 2009, and the choice between them decides what you spend on balloons for the life of the machine. Every Volcano sold new today, Classic or Hybrid, ships with Easy Valve. The Solid Valve is a separate $99 kit, and it only fits the Classic and the Digit.

Easy Valve is the maintenance-free option. The balloon, the valve, and the mouthpiece arrive as one sealed unit in a plastic clamshell. You push it onto the filling chamber, the pump fills it, you pull it off, and the valve closes itself. Pressing the mouthpiece to your lips opens the valve while you draw. There is nothing to cut, clamp, or clean. When the balloon clouds over or the mouthpiece stops sealing, you throw the whole unit away and open a new one. Storz & Bickel's advice is to change it when it gets cloudy; the retailers translate that to somewhere around 100 fills.

Solid Valve is the enthusiast's option and the older design. The valve is a stainless steel body with a removable mouthpiece and a clip ring. You cut a length of balloon material from a roll, pull it over the valve, and clamp it with the ring. The valve lasts as long as the machine, with the occasional o-ring change, and you replace the balloon film for well under a dollar a bag whenever it gets dirty. The mouthpiece pushes into the valve to open it, and the lip pieces on the mouthpiece are a consumable. The Solid Valve also uses its own filling chamber, a screw-together cylinder with a spring-loaded insert that presses the herb flat, which is not interchangeable with the Easy Valve chamber. The cost of all that flexibility is cleaning: the valve and chamber come apart into a dozen pieces, and they need it every few weeks.

Who should use which. If you own a Hybrid, the decision is made for you; buy Easy Valve balloons or use the tube. If you own a Classic and share it, or you want a Volcano that asks nothing of you, stay with Easy Valve. If you own a Classic, use it daily, like the idea of a 30 cm bag for a solo session and a 1 m bag for four people from the same roll, and do not mind soaking steel parts in isopropyl now and then, the Solid Valve pays for itself within a year or two and then keeps paying.

Cost of ownership. Here is what the two systems cost to run, using retail prices at the time of writing and 100 fills per Easy Valve balloon.

The third column is the one most people miss. Every Classic and Hybrid ships with an Easy Valve Balloon with Adapter, which is an Easy Valve with a reusable fixation ring instead of a factory-sealed balloon. Pull a cut length of balloon tube over it and you get Solid Valve economics on an Easy Valve machine, including the Hybrid, without buying anything but a $4.50 roll. It is not quite a Solid Valve: the valve is plastic, the balloon does not seal as tightly at the neck, and it will not last forever. But it is the reason we would not tell a Hybrid owner to feel cheated by the lack of a Solid Valve option.

Easy Valve Starter Set, $99

The full Easy Valve kit for a Classic or a Digit: four balloons with mouthpieces, one Balloon with Adapter, the Easy Valve filling chamber, three filling chamber clips, a cap ring, a Ø 30 mm normal screen set, and a cleaning brush. It is what a Classic comes with in the box, so a new owner does not need it. Buy it if you own a Solid Valve Classic and want to try Easy Valve, if you picked up a used Classic that arrived without its chamber, or if your chamber and balloons have both reached the end of their lives at the same time. At $99 it is only $37 more than the chamber on its own, and the five balloons it includes are most of a $49 six-pack.

It does not fit the Hybrid. The chamber inside it is the Classic chamber, and the Hybrid has its own starter set below. Five of the retailers we track sell the Easy Valve Starter Set for $99 and had it in stock: The Stash Shack, Headshop.com, Smoke Cartel, DankStop, and Daily High Club. Storz & Bickel's own store lists it at $109, which is the pattern for most of the Volcano parts in this guide: the manufacturer charges a little more than its dealers for the common items and is the only place to find the rare ones.

Easy Valve Replacement Set, $49

Six ready-to-use balloons with mouthpieces, each about 60 cm long, and the single most useful thing a Volcano owner can keep in a drawer. Storz & Bickel lists it as suitable for the Hybrid, the Digit, and the Classic, so this is the one balloon purchase that needs no compatibility check. Six balloons is roughly 600 fills, and if you are the only person using the machine, that is most of a year.

The Stash Shack, Headshop.com, Smoke Cartel, and Daily High Club all had it at $49; Storz & Bickel charges $59. Buy from The Stash Shack, Smoke Cartel, Headshop.com, or Daily High Club.

Easy Valve XL Replacement Set, $69

The same six balloons at about 90 cm instead of 60 cm, which is half again as much vapor per fill. XL is the group balloon: one fill goes around a room, and the extra length means the last person still gets a proper draw. For one person it is the wrong choice, because a Volcano bag is best within a few minutes of filling and a bag you cannot finish is a bag you waste. XL balloons also take longer to fill.

Every retailer we track lists the XL set between $59 and $79, and every one of them was out of stock at the time of writing. Storz & Bickel had it for $69 and in stock, which is the case for most of the less common Volcano parts.

Balloon with Adapter and balloon tube, from $4.50

The Balloon with Adapter is an Easy Valve with a Balloon Fixation Ring in place of a sealed balloon. Storz & Bickel's own description is that "new balloons can be pulled over like on the Solid Valve before," which is exactly right: cut a length from a roll of balloon tube, pull it over the valve, seat the ring, and fill. Both machines ship with one, and a spare is $11.30 at Storz & Bickel. The Stash Shack's listing at $11 was sold out.

The tube itself is the cheapest Volcano part there is. A 3 m roll makes about five standard 60 cm balloons or three XLs, it is food-safe and heat-proof, and it is the same material Storz & Bickel uses for its factory balloons. The Stash Shack has the 3 m roll for $4.50, DankStop for $4.25, and Headshop.com for $4.99; Storz & Bickel's own price is $4.50. Cut the balloon a little longer than you think you need. The extra length gives you a neck to hold when you pull the balloon over the valve, and a bag that is trimmed too short is the usual reason an adapter balloon leaks.

Solid Valve Set, $99

Everything you need to run a Classic on the reusable system: the Solid Valve with a balloon already fitted, a 3 m roll of balloon tube, the mouthpiece, the Solid Valve filling chamber, a normal screen set, and a brush. Classic and Digit only. Once you own it, the running cost of the Volcano drops to the price of tube and the occasional o-ring set, and you gain control over balloon size that Easy Valve cannot give you.

It also changes how the chamber works. The Solid Valve chamber is a taller cylinder that screws together, and the Filling Chamber Insert, a spring-loaded plunger with its own screen, presses down on the herb so a small load is held in a thin, even layer that hot air passes through properly. On the Easy Valve chamber you need the reducer to get the same result; on the Solid Valve chamber it is built in. That is the reason many long-term Classic owners keep both systems and use the Solid Valve for solo sessions.

Storz & Bickel sells the Solid Valve Set for $99 and had it in stock; Slick Vapes lists it at $99.99 as the Solid Valve option on its starter set page. Smoke Cartel, Daily High Club, The Stash Shack, and Headshop.com all list it too, at $99 to $130, and all four were sold out.

Solid Valve Filling Chamber and Insert, from $15.99

If you already own a Solid Valve and the chamber has worn out, or you want a second chamber so one can soak while the other works, the Solid Valve Filling Chamber is $50.90 at Storz & Bickel with a normal screen set. Slick Vapes sells it for $54 and its listing bundles in the Filling Chamber Insert, three lower screens, three upper screens, the washer, and the nut, which makes it the better buy if you need the insert too. The insert on its own is $15.99 at Slick Vapes, and it is the part to replace when the spring gets tired and the herb stops being held flat.

The rest of the Solid Valve spares, the mouthpiece, lip piece set, o-ring set, fine and normal screen sets, valve housing, and the Solid Valve Wear and Tear Set with its three rolls of tube, are all listed on Storz & Bickel's US store. The Stash Shack, Slick Vapes, and Headshop.com list most of them too, and every one of those dealer listings was out of stock when we checked. If you run a Solid Valve, the manufacturer's store is your parts counter.

Balloon or Tube: Using the Hybrid Both Ways

The Hybrid's headline feature over the Classic is that its filling chamber accepts either an Easy Valve or a tube, and the two deliver different sessions from the same herb.

A balloon is a batch. The pump fills it in somewhere between half a minute and a minute, the vapor cools inside the bag, and you draw with almost no resistance because you are inhaling from a reservoir rather than through the herb. It is the smoothest way to inhale vapor that exists, it can be handed around a room, and it lets you pick a temperature, fill, and then step away from the machine. The trade is that a balloon commits you to a full chamber's worth of vapor, the bag is best in the first few minutes and tastes stale if it sits, and the plastic picks up flavor over its life. A tube is on demand. The Tube Flexer seats in the chamber, the pump runs while you draw, and the vapor reaches you seconds after it leaves the herb, warmer and denser than balloon vapor and closer to what a portable like the Mighty+ delivers. You take two draws or ten and the rest of the load waits in the chamber. The trade is that you are tethered to the base by a meter of silicone, the vapor is hotter than from a bag, sharing means swapping mouthpieces, and the tube collects resin and eventually needs replacing.

Warning: Storz & Bickel's Tube Reel listing is explicit that no tube shorter than 1 m may be used on the Hybrid. A shorter tube does not cool the vapor enough, and the company describes the result as a risk of burns. If you cut your own, cut long.

Most Hybrid owners settle into using the tube alone and the balloon with company, which is why the two Hybrid-specific kits below are worth understanding rather than just buying.

Volcano Hybrid Tube Kit, $26.90

The Tube Kit is the exact whip that came in the Hybrid's box: a 1 m silicone tube, the Tube Flexer, and a mouthpiece. Buy it when the original tube has gone brown inside, when the Flexer's swivel has stiffened, or when you want a second tube so a clean one is always ready. It is $26.90 at Storz & Bickel and in stock, and To The Cloud sells the whip and its connector as the Volcano Hybrid Whip for $24.99. To The Cloud's listing also settles a question people ask a lot: the whip will physically sit on a Classic Easy Valve chamber, but that chamber does not lock to the base, so the weight of the tube tips it over unless you hold it. The tube is only hands-free on the Hybrid.

Tube Set, Tube Reel, Tube Flexer, and mouthpieces

Storz & Bickel breaks the whip down into every part, and which one you want depends on what wore out.

• Tube Set 3x1m, $35.20. Three 1 m tubes and three mouthpieces, no Flexer. The right buy once you own a Flexer and just want fresh tube. Three tubes at $11.73 each is far cheaper than three kits.
• Tube Reel 10 m, $80. Ten meters of tube you cut to length, with the 1 m minimum still applying. This is for the owner who runs a Volcano across a large room and wants a 2 m or 3 m tube, or who goes through tube quickly. At $8 a meter it is the cheapest tube per meter, but only if you will use all ten.
• Tube Flexer, $12.90. The swivelling connector between chamber and tube, sold alone for when the swivel stiffens or the seal at the chamber weakens.
• Mouthpieces, 4 pieces, $10.30. Four of the flattened plastic mouthpieces that push into the end of the tube. Keep a set so guests get their own, and swap yours when it discolors.

Volcano Hybrid Starter Set, $119.99

The Hybrid's equivalent of the Easy Valve Starter Set: three balloons with mouthpieces, one Balloon with Adapter, the Hybrid filling chamber with its cap ring, Ø 30 mm screen set, and brush, and a full Tube Kit. It is the whole vapor path of a Hybrid in one box, and it is the right purchase for a second-hand Hybrid that came without its parts or for an owner who wants to replace everything the vapor touches in one go. Bought separately, the chamber and Tube Kit alone are $88.90 at Storz & Bickel, so the four balloons are close to free.

Smoke Cartel had it in stock for $119.99, To The Cloud for $119, and Storz & Bickel for $129. It does not fit a Classic; the chamber is the locking Hybrid chamber and the tube has nothing to connect to on a Classic.

Filling Chambers and the Reducer

The Volcano's chamber was designed for a group. The screen is about 30 mm across, and a load that covers it properly is a lot of herb for one person. Put a small pinch in and the hot air finds the gaps and goes around the herb rather than through it, the balloon fills thin, and you end up running the pump twice. Every serious solo Volcano owner ends up with a reducer, and Storz & Bickel sells it two ways for each machine: as a Dosing Capsule Adapter that drops into the chamber you already own, or as a complete Dosing Capsule Filling Chamber with the reducer already fitted.

The reducer is a metal ring about 15 mm across, ceramic-coated on the current Hybrid version according to To The Cloud. Halving the diameter quarters the area, so a load that would barely cover the standard screen packs the reduced chamber to the right depth. The same ring is sized to hold a Storz & Bickel dosing capsule, which is why the two products share a name and why the adapter kits include a capsule and two Ø 15 mm screens.

Tip: With the reducer in, fill the 15 mm cup level with the top of the ring and leave it loose. A Volcano pushes air through the load rather than pulling it, so a lightly packed reducer extracts evenly while a compressed one slows the fill and leaves the middle of the load under-done. Volcano Hybrid Filling Chamber, $62

The full-size Hybrid chamber, with a cap ring, a Ø 30 mm normal screen set, and a brush. It is the part that wears out slowest, but it is also the part you might want two of: one loaded with the reducer for weeknights and one full-size for weekends, so you never take the chamber apart to swap inserts. To The Cloud rates its capacity at up to about 0.4 g of ground herb. Storz & Bickel has it for $62 and To The Cloud for $64.99.

The Hybrid chamber locks onto the base, which is what lets a tube hang off it without tipping, and it is why Storz & Bickel lists it as suitable for the Hybrid only. Do not buy it for a Classic.

Volcano Hybrid Dosing Capsule Adapter, $13.99

The reducer for the Hybrid chamber: a Ø 15 mm adapter ring, two Ø 15 mm screens, and one dosing capsule. It swaps in for the standard insert in a chamber you already own and gives you a Volcano that makes sense for one person, with a capsule or a pinch of herb producing a properly dense balloon. It is the first thing a solo Hybrid owner should buy, and the cheapest. To The Cloud sells it as the Volcano Hybrid Chamber Reducer for $13.99, Storz & Bickel for $14.30; Headshop.com and Daily High Club list it at $14.90 and were both out of stock.

If you would rather not swap inserts at all, the Dosing Capsule Filling Chamber for the Hybrid is $62 at Storz & Bickel and arrives with the reducer fitted, plus three Ø 30 mm screens, three Ø 15 mm screens, a cap ring, a capsule, and a brush. That is the same price as the plain chamber, so if you are buying a second chamber anyway, buy this one.

Filling Chamber for the Volcano Classic, $62

The Easy Valve chamber for the Classic and Digit, sold with three filling chamber clips, a cap ring, a Ø 30 mm screen set, and a brush. It is what the Easy Valve Starter Set is built around, and unless you also need balloons, the chamber on its own from Storz & Bickel at $62 is the buy. Slick Vapes has it for $78. A used Classic often arrives with a chamber whose clips have lost their spring and whose cap ring has gone hard, and a new chamber is the fastest way to get a used machine sealing properly again.

Easy Valve Dosing Capsule Adapter for the Classic, $12.99

The Classic's version of the reducer: a Ø 15 mm adapter, two small screens, and a capsule, listed by Storz & Bickel for the Classic, the Digit, and Easy Valve. It installs by removing the chamber's lower metal insert and dropping the adapter in its place. Do not assume it is interchangeable with the Hybrid adapter above; the two carry different part numbers and Storz & Bickel lists each for one machine. To The Cloud has it as the Easy Valve Filling Chamber Reducer for $12.99 and Storz & Bickel for $14.30. The Stash Shack's listing at $12.99 and Headshop.com's at $22 were both sold out.

As with the Hybrid, there is a Dosing Capsule Filling Chamber for the Classic at $62 with the reducer pre-fitted, three normal screens, three small screens, clips, a cap ring, a capsule, and a brush, for owners who want a dedicated solo chamber.

A note on concentrates

The Volcano used to have an official answer for concentrates, the Liquid Pad, a stainless mesh disc that sat in the chamber and held a dab of wax while hot air passed through it. Storz & Bickel has discontinued it, and the US store no longer lists a liquid pad for either Volcano. To The Cloud had a few pairs left at $21.99 for two and labels the listing discontinued; Slick Vapes and The Stash Shack list pads and were sold out. Warning: Never put concentrate straight into a Volcano chamber without a pad. Once it melts it runs through the screen into the base of the chamber and, on the Hybrid, onto the heating block, and that residue is very hard to remove.

Dosing Capsules: The Workflow

Storz & Bickel's dosing capsule is a small aluminum cup with a press-on lid that holds roughly a tenth of a gram of ground herb. It is the same capsule across the whole range: the Mighty+ ships with one, the Crafty+ and Venty take it directly, the Plenty takes it with its own adapter, and both Volcanos take it in the Ø 15 mm reducer described above. The reducer makes the chamber a one-person size, and the capsule means the herb never touches the chamber, so the part you would otherwise be brushing out every session stays clean for weeks. The workflow Storz & Bickel designed goes like this. Grind with the Herb Mill XL. Lay 40 empty capsules in the filling device, spread ground herb across them with the spatula, and press the lids on with the plunger. Load eight into a Magazine for the drawer and four into a Capsule Caddy for a pocket. When you want a session, drop a capsule into the reducer, fill a balloon or run the tube, then tip the spent capsule out and drop in the next. Storz & Bickel labels the capsules single use; in practice owners run them for many fills, empty them with a tap, and replace one when its lid stops snapping shut or the aluminum darkens enough to bother them.

Tip: Grind for a capsule the way you would for a convection chamber: fine, but not dust. A fine grind packs a capsule evenly so hot air moves through the whole load, and it is what the Herb Mill XL's sharp teeth are designed to produce. Dosing Capsules, 40 pieces, from $11.99

The plain refill pack. Forty capsules is enough for the filling device and a rotation of spares, and at these prices they are cheap enough to treat as consumables even if you do not. Headshop.com had the 40-pack for $11.99, the lowest price we saw, with The Stash Shack at $13.99, Storz & Bickel at $14.90, and Smoke Cartel, DankStop, and Daily High Club at $14.99. Storz & Bickel discounts to $12.40 a pack if you buy ten, which nobody needs.

Magazine with 8 Dosing Capsules, $7.90

An aluminum tube with eight slots that keeps filled capsules upright, sealed, and organized. It is the cheapest way to start with capsules, because it includes eight of them, and a single Magazine holds a week of solo Volcano sessions once the reducer is in. Every store we checked had it at $7.90: The Stash Shack, Storz & Bickel, Smoke Cartel, Headshop.com, and Daily High Club.

Filling Set for 40 Dosing Capsules, $53.50

The Filling Set is the whole workflow in one box: the filling device, a spatula, the plunger that presses all the lids at once, a Herb Mill XL, a Magazine with eight capsules, forty more capsules, and a small scale. Bought separately the Herb Mill XL, Magazine, and 40-pack are about $34 at Storz & Bickel, so the filling device, plunger, spatula, and scale cost around $20 on top, which is a fair price for the twenty minutes it saves every week. It is the accessory that makes a solo Volcano feel effortless, and it is overkill for anyone who fills a chamber by hand and likes it.

Storz & Bickel sells it for $53.50, which undercuts every dealer: Slick Vapes has it at $69.99, and Headshop.com's $49.99 listing was sold out.

Capsule Caddy, $5.90

A keychain tube that holds four capsules, odor-proof and waterproof. On a desktop machine it is less about travel and more about the Mighty+ or Venty you carry with you, but if the Volcano is the machine that fills your capsules, the Caddy is the one that takes them out of the house. Storz & Bickel sells it for $5.90 with four capsules included; Headshop.com's listing at $9.99 was out of stock, as was The Stash Shack's version for liquid capsules.

Grinders and Prep

A Volcano rewards a fine, even grind more than most vaporizers, because the chamber is wide and shallow and the air has to pass through the herb rather than around it. Both machines ship with a Storz & Bickel Herb Mill, the acrylic grinder about 55 mm across on the Hybrid and 59 mm on the Classic. It is fine. The XL is better.

Herb Mill XL, $11.30

The Herb Mill XL is a 90 mm acrylic grinder with sharper teeth than the standard mill, built to grind the quantity of herb a Volcano session or a filling device consumes in one go. It is the grinder included in the Filling Set, so skip it if you buy that. Storz & Bickel has it for $11.30; Smoke Cartel lists it at $17.99 and was out of stock. A 214 by 163 mm rolling tray with a pouring corner, designed for loading a Volcano chamber or a row of capsules without herb on the desk. It is a tray, and you could use any tray, but the spout is genuinely useful with the reducer, where the target is 15 mm wide. Storz & Bickel sells it for $13.90.

Air Filters, Screens, and Wear Parts

A Volcano is a pump and a heater, and the pump pulls room air in through a foam filter in the base before pushing it through the herb. That filter is the most neglected part on the machine. It sits under a cap on the underside, it is never seen, and when it fills with dust the pump works harder, the airflow drops, and balloons fill slower. To The Cloud's advice is every six months on the Hybrid regardless of use and about once a year on the Classic; Storz & Bickel's is to change it when it is discolored. Either way, the filters are so cheap that you should buy them when you buy anything else.

Volcano Hybrid Air Filter Set, $4.99

Two rectangular foam filters that fit the square filter housing on the underside of the Hybrid. Storz & Bickel's own set at $4.90 was out of stock when we checked; To The Cloud had it at $4.99. The Air Filter Cap that holds it in is $3.90 at Storz & Bickel, and worth having if the tabs on yours have cracked.

Air Filter Set for the Volcano Classic, $7.40

The Classic uses round foam discs, and Storz & Bickel's set includes two filters and a new Air Filter Cap for $7.40. To The Cloud sells a pair of Classic filters without the cap for $11.99, and its listing notes the Classic will run without a filter fitted at all, which is true and not a reason to try it. The Stash Shack's Volcano air filters at $5 were sold out.

Wear and Tear Sets, $11.90

Each Volcano has a Wear and Tear Set that renews the filling chamber's small parts, and they are different because the chambers are.

The Wear and Tear Set for the Volcano Hybrid is four cap rings, a Ø 30 mm normal screen set, and a brush. The cap ring is the small rubber ring that seals the chamber to the valve or Flexer, and it is the part to suspect when a balloon fills slowly or the tube feels loose.

The Wear and Tear Set for the Volcano Classic is six filling chamber clips, ten cap rings, a normal screen set, and a brush. The clips are the three spring clips that hold the Classic chamber's housing together, and they lose tension after a year or two of heat cycles, which shows up as a chamber that no longer holds itself firmly closed. Both sets are $11.90 at Storz & Bickel and in stock; The Stash Shack's Classic set at $12 was sold out.

Screens on their own are the Ø 30 mm normal screen set for either chamber, listed on Storz & Bickel's store, and the Ø 15 mm small screens that come with the adapters. A Volcano screen clogs slowly, and the sign is a balloon that takes longer to fill than it used to. Brush after every session, replace when brushing no longer clears it.

Note: Clean the chamber, valve body, Flexer, and screens in isopropyl, but never a balloon. Easy Valve balloons are not designed to be washed; a cloudy one gets replaced. The tube can be rinsed with warm water and a drop of dish soap, then hung to dry completely before it goes back on the machine.

The App Is Software, Not an Accessory

The Volcano Hybrid connects over Bluetooth to Storz & Bickel's web app, which runs in a Chrome-based browser on a phone or computer with no download. It sets the temperature, shows what the heater is doing, and lets you build workflows that step the heater and pump through timed stages, so a single button press can heat to 180 C, fill a balloon, raise to 200 C, and fill another. It also updates the Hybrid's firmware. It costs nothing, and it changes what the machine can do more than most of the hardware on this page, so it belongs in a Hybrid owner's setup even though there is nothing to buy. What to Skip, or at Least Buy Last

• The Easy Valve Starter Set, if you own a Hybrid. Its chamber is the Classic chamber. Hybrid owners want the Hybrid Starter Set or the Replacement Set.
• The Tube Reel, unless you know you want a long tube. Ten meters at $80 only beats the $35.20 Tube Set if you will use all of it. Most owners never cut a second tube.
• A second full-size chamber before a reducer. If you use the Volcano alone, the $13.99 adapter changes more than a $62 chamber does. Buy the Dosing Capsule Filling Chamber as your second chamber, not the plain one.
• XL balloons for solo use. A 90 cm bag you cannot finish is stale vapor. Standard balloons, or a short bag cut for the adapter balloon, waste less.
• The 10-foot party bag. To The Cloud builds a custom 10 ft Easy Valve bag from Storz & Bickel parts for $39.99. It was out of stock, it is a novelty, and a Volcano's pump will take a while to fill it.
• Anything in the Storz & Bickel store that is not a Volcano part. The Cap Lock Set is for the Mighty+ and Crafty+, the USB-C Supercharger and USB Charger are for the portables, and the Plenty filling chamber, cooling coil, and dosing capsule adapter are Plenty parts with Volcano-sounding names. The store filters by device; use it.
• Liquid pads. Discontinued, scarce, and $21.99 for two at the one store that still had them. If you want to vape concentrates regularly, buy a device made for it.

Do Volcano Classic balloons fit the Volcano Hybrid?

Yes. Easy Valve balloons, both the standard 60 cm and the 90 cm XL, and the Balloon with Adapter are listed by Storz & Bickel for the Hybrid, the Digit, and the Classic. The Solid Valve does not fit the Hybrid, and neither does the Classic's filling chamber.

Does the Solid Valve work on the Volcano Hybrid?

No. Storz & Bickel lists the Solid Valve Set for the Classic and Digit only, and the Hybrid's chamber is a different locking design. A Hybrid owner who wants cheap, cut-to-length balloons should use the Balloon with Adapter and a roll of balloon tube instead, which gets you most of the saving.

Should a new Volcano Classic owner buy the Solid Valve?

Not on day one. The Classic ships with Easy Valve, five balloons, and a Balloon with Adapter, which is enough to find out how often you use the machine and how many balloons you go through. If after a few months you are buying replacement sets regularly and you use the Volcano alone more than with company, the $99 Solid Valve Set pays for itself in balloons and gives you the flat-pressed small loads the insert makes possible.

How long does an Easy Valve balloon last?

Storz & Bickel's advice is to replace it when it clouds over or stops sealing at the mouthpiece; retailers put that at around 100 fills. A balloon that is stored empty, kept away from heat, and never washed lasts longer than one that is left full or rinsed. A six-pack for a solo user is most of a year.

Can I use the Hybrid's tube on a Volcano Classic?

Only if you hold it. The Tube Flexer physically fits the Classic's Easy Valve chamber, but that chamber does not lock to the base the way the Hybrid's does, so the tube's weight tips it over. Storz & Bickel lists every tube part for the Hybrid alone, and the Classic is a balloon machine.

Do Mighty+ dosing capsules fit the Volcano?
