Dryonic II

Air enters the Dryonic II through pinholes in the soft black top cap, passes down through the quartz kiln and leaves through a clear glass mouthpiece seated off centre in a metal collar. That short, narrow path is where the pen gets dirty. Resin films the inside of the glass tube and gathers around the holes and the seal on the collar face, while dust from a half gram load works into the quartz. Owners describe a burnt popcorn taste creeping in as residue builds, which is the signal a clean is overdue.

1. Power down and lift the mouthpiece out: Five rapid clicks turns the pen off. The glass mouthpiece pulls straight up out of the chrome collar in the top cap, with no threads to undo. Let everything cool before going further.

2. Heat, then brush the quartz: O2VAPE's own method for the Dryonic II is to run the chamber on high to soften what is stuck, then work the included brush around the quartz with a little isopropyl. Treat those as two steps, not one, and keep liquid out of the body, where the heater, the 1200 mAh cell, the OLED and the temperature dial all sit.

3. Soak the mouthpiece on its own: The glass mouthpiece is the one part O2VAPE says can be soaked, and it sells the piece separately so owners can keep using the pen while a resined one sits in alcohol. Rinse it in warm water afterwards and dry it fully before it goes back in.

4. Keep the small holes clear: Perforations sit on the face of the metal collar, and there is an intake pinhole in the top cap beside the mouthpiece. Fine grind, which owners find works best here, blocks both and makes an already narrow draw feel tight. Brush bristles or a dry cotton bud clear them.

5. Swab between bowls: O2VAPE's general advice is a cotton bud carrying a very small amount of rubbing alcohol, and Dryonic II owners use exactly that after each bowl to hold the popcorn taste back. It takes seconds and pushes the full strip further out.

O2VAPE publishes no service interval for this pen, so let flavour set it: once a swab no longer fixes the taste, do the heat and brush properly. Two things beyond cleaning are worth watching. The ring that seals the collar into the cap stiffens with repeated heat and alcohol, and a loose mouthpiece or a suddenly airy draw usually traces back to it. The 1200 mAh battery gives roughly an hour of active use per micro USB charge, and working nearer the bottom of the 200 to 430 degree range stretches both the cell and the gap between cleans.
