Everything about the Deezy is small, and that is what makes the mess awkward. The ceramic chamber holds around 0.3 grams but sits deep and narrow in the body, so conduction bakes residue onto walls you cannot reach with a finger, and the short trip up to the glass mouthpiece darkens the steel mesh filter within a few sessions.

1. Open it up while it is still warm: Pull the silver magnetic cap straight off, then unscrew the glass mouthpiece. The Kind Pen asks for a clean after every use, and warm residue lifts far more easily than residue that has cooled and set.

2. Brush the ceramic chamber: Tip the spent material out and sweep the chamber with the included brush. The packing tool doubles as a scraper for the corners the bristles skip, and stirring the bowl with it mid session stops material caking onto the base.

3. Unscrew the filter and swab it: The stainless steel mesh filter screws out of the mouthpiece as a separate piece. The manual specifies cleaning it with an alcohol swab, so work a cotton bud soaked in isopropyl through it until the mesh is bare metal again. This is the part that stiffens the draw first.

4. Keep alcohol on a swab, never in the chamber: A cotton bud barely damp with isopropyl is the only sensible way to clean the ceramic, since nothing wider will fit. Do not pour or drip alcohol in. The heater sits directly beneath the chamber, and anything running past the floor ends up where you cannot reach it.

5. Deep clean weekly: The Kind Pen recommends a thorough clean once a week, or roughly every 15 to 20 sessions. Cap, mouthpiece and filter all come apart, and each part gets cotton swabs or pipe cleaners rather than a soak. The brand warns against leaving parts sitting in solution overnight, as prolonged contact can discolor or damage them.

6. Wipe the body, then burn off: The matte plastic casing only needs a microfiber cloth, and solvent should stay off the OLED window and out of the micro USB port. Once everything is reassembled and dry, The Kind Pen suggests running the device empty at its highest setting for a couple of minutes to drive off leftover alcohol.

Keep the magnetic cap on in a pocket, since it exists mainly to keep lint and dust out of the glass. Stick to dry herb only: The Kind Pen states concentrates can leak inside and damage the device, and there is no clean way to flush this chamber if they do. Charge for around two hours from flat, and wipe the micro USB contacts if charging turns unreliable.
