What does the Vapman Classic's mica shield do?
A thin sheet of natural mica sits between the gold plated pan and the wood, reflecting heat off the shell so it cannot carbonise. Being a mineral, its colour varies between units, and light flaking at the edges after long use is normal.
How long should you heat the Vapman Classic?
Hold the wooden ring and touch a jet flame to the apex of the copper pan. The Stash Shack suggests beginners heat three to four seconds, rest three, and repeat until vapour shows. Vapman advises underheating rather than overheating, then drawing for five to fifteen seconds.
How much herb does the Vapman Classic hold?
INHALE's chart gives the original pan 0.1g and the Click 0.2g, and says 0.05g still extracts properly. Fill no higher than the rim, since the manual warns an overpacked pan blocks airflow and will not work. More on microdosing.
What do the brass nozzles and filter do?
The nozzles feed hot fresh air into the chamber and keep butane fumes out of the draw, while the filter above it holds the load back. If either clogs, the draw tightens and herb starts pulling through.
Which mouthpieces fit the Vapman Classic?
INHALE lists stainless steel, borosilicate glass, black POM and wooden mouthpieces. Only the POM version carries the removable Simrell helix spiral that cools vapour. Twisting any of them closes the middle section's air hole, tightening the draw for denser vapour.
How does the Classic differ from the Vapman Pure?
Only in heat protection. The Pure has no mica and lets the wood build its own charred carbon layer instead. INHALE says both perform the same, so the choice is aesthetic: the Classic holds its new look, the Pure gains a patina.
Is the Vapman Click the same as the Classic?
The Click is the current production Vapman, sold in both Classic and Pure forms. Bimetallic discs click when the pan is up to temperature and click back at 180°C, so you heat by ear rather than by count, on a larger 0.2g pan.
Vapman Classic Cleaning & Maintenance
A torch flame lands directly on the tip of the Vapman Classic's gold plated copper pan, so residue bakes on hardest in three places: the pan, the filter screwed above it, and the small air nozzles feeding the chamber. The two parts that look like they need attention, the wooden shell halves and the thin mica sheet sitting between pan and wood, are the two that Vapman says to leave alone.
-
Rub the filter while it is still warm. Once the vapor thins out, unscrew the middle section anti-clockwise, tap the spent herb out and rub the filter against a cloth or paper towel before the device cools. Vapman's manual singles this out as the easiest moment to shift residue. A toothpick lifts anything stuck to the rim of the pan.
-
Brush the pan between bowls. The natural bristle brush in the kit is enough to keep the pan clear day to day, and doing it regularly keeps the gold surface visible rather than tarred over. Concentrate users will need it far more often, since the concentrate screen loads up quickly.
-
Keep the air path open. If the air holes in the middle section or the air nozzles block, the Classic stops drawing properly and starts pulling herb particles through. Clear both with a needle rather than a solvent.
-
Deep clean the metal parts only. Undo the PH00 screws holding the filter and let it sit in isopropyl. Residue on the middle section can be scraped off, and the manual allows soaking it fully in acetone. The pan itself takes a cotton bud damp with alcohol or acetone, not a bath.
-
Match the mouthpiece to its material. Stainless steel, borosilicate glass, titanium and POM mouthpieces handle hot water or alcohol. The wooden mouthpieces do not: wipe those with a soft dry cloth, the same rule that applies to the shell.
-
Leave the mica and the wood dry. The mica heat shield is what separates the Classic from the Pure, reflecting heat off the wood instead of letting it carbonise. Vapman states it should never be cleaned or touched by liquid. Flaking at its edges after long use is expected and does not shorten the device's life.
-
Heat short and often. Roughly 5 to 6 seconds with a 10mm jet flame, 3 to 4 at 15mm, 2 to 3 at 20mm. Repeated short heats leave less scorched residue than one long burn, and severe overheating flakes the gold plating off the copper. The restore kit supplies a spare filter, springs and screws when the filter finally clogs past cleaning.
